WHY, OH WHY, have I not heard of this little slice of heaven?! The owner/chef bakes the bread DAILY, so no two-day old bread. The menu changes out weekly. As soon as I walked in the door, he offered me samples of the homemade soups. All of the ones I sampled were delicious. I decided to bring home a yellow watermelon ginger cold soup. The sandwich that I decided to eat for lunch was a sweet potato sandwich with mozzarella and other veggies on a homemade baked sweet potato roll. That bread gave me life! There were other tempting options, but this sandwich was so unique, I had to have it. I can’t wait to return.

Incredible food. The soups are next level delicious. You get samples to enjoy while your order is being made. The rib eye sandwich and chicken salad were phenomenal. The atmosphere is so warm and inviting. It’s like a time machine back to simpler times and the owner is very friendly. I watched a steady stream of customers roll in and now I know why. I’d give it a 10 but Google reviews only go as high as 5. Great local place!

The Service we got was great! We were met by the owner/chef who immediately offered us samples of his amazing soup! Each sample was outstanding. We chose to get the broccoli soup and the tomato bacon. The broccoli soup by far was the best and would give it five stars. My partner ordered the tuna sandwich. He really loved the sandwich said it was very fresh. He brought his tomato bacon soup home because he was full from his sandwich. My sandwich unfortunately did not meet high expectations. I ordered the sliced pork loin with a cranberry jalapeño relish on top of a fresh roll. It also had a slice of cheese with it. The pork loin came out extremely cold and the block of cheese was just sort of there. When I bit into It it was just a slab of cold sliced meat. Was looking for a comforting, savory sandwich and this just totally missed the mark for me. Bread is fresh. I am most likely would only return for the soup

5 stars! Homemade bread, hand curated wholesome food, fresh ingredients. The ribeye was the best sandwich I ever had. Stop here instead of the food court at the mall. What a treat. Killer homemade soups also. You will not regret coming in.

Not quite the soup Nazi but the Soup Nice Guy. Mike has an amazing selection of soup that changes every week. Tomato and bacon , and Kimchi are my favorites.
His makes delicious homemade made sandwiches and salads will all locally grown produce. Prices are very fair.
If you like soup and a good conversation, go see Mike and say hello to Bob the goldfish.

There is no place in the entire state like Tachens. As you walk in the chef is there handing you samples of each soup he has prepared for the day…. and it will be a difficult choice because they are always excellent.
I’ve been looking for a place that makes good soup and this spot delivers 10 fold!
The soup is a grand slam every time! The soups choices change weekly so it’s a constantly evolving restaurant in terms of food.
They have a sandwich selection to cover all bases. My personal favorite is the chicken salad. Such a simple sandwhich that not everyone gets right except Tachens!! I’m a huge fan of chicken salad but noone has come close to this one. The bread for the sandwiches are baked on site every day so you’ll always have fresh food. Many excellent sandwhich choices there, but go and check it out…
This is the only true hidden gem I have ever come accross.
There aren’t enough stars to give for this place.
It’s so nice to have a place that uses fresh ingredients and someone who cares about what goes into the food that’s prepared.
If you are on the fence, just walk inside and get a sample. You will not be disappointed.
Oh I almost forgot about the “grown up tuna” sandwich….it’s awesome!

Delicious and cute place. As soon as I walked in the man started giving samples of every soup for that week. Very sweet man and patient with my choices. Each soup was even better than the last. I ended up getting the black bean one although the mushroom was a close second. Had about 4-5 sandwiches to choose from. Choose the rib eye sandwich which was cooked to perfection. They change their menu every week. I want to go back every day!!

First time here. I can’t say enough of the service and friendliness that we received. The freshest ingredients and the soups were out of this world! Fresh bread, smiles, and a great home town atmosphere makes Tatchen’s my new favorite spot in the area. Can’t believe anything less than 5 stars. Thank you for reigniting my faith in the food business!

I finally got a chance to go to 10 Course Tasting Dinner. The best way to describe it is “WOW!”. Started it off with a cold blueberry soup and finished it off with a strawberry cheesecake. My favorites were the bacon jam and seared tuna. Every dish was delicious. Chef Mike described every course as they served them. He uses locally sourced ingredients. On this night he used all locally grown summer fruits and vegetables. Each and every course was delicious. There wasn’t anything left on any of my plates.
It’s a BYOB.
Great food, great price and great atmosphere.
I highly recommend you go the next tasting dinner…but don’t wait because it sells out quickly.
