I used to love Tasty Pot — especially the old Richmond location — so it felt nostalgic coming back for a comforting hot pot night. The setup still hits that cozy vibe: steaming broth bubbling over a tray, piled with sliced beef, tofu skin, lotus root, and a bit of everything from corn to tomato.

Unfortunately, the flavor doesn’t fully match the memory. The ingredients feel a bit pre-cooked, and the meat was just okay — edible, but nothing that makes you pause mid-bite. The soup, though, still carries that savory depth Tasty Pot is known for, and it’s definitely the highlight of the meal.

Also hate the paper bowls.

The space itself is showing its age — could use a little refresh — but for a quick solo or casual date hot pot, it still scratches that itch. Not the Tasty Pot I once loved, but I’ll always have a soft spot for it.

I was really disappointed with this hot
I was really disappointed with this hot pot restaurant. The food did not taste fresh and the broth was very bland. Several dishes had a strange smell and the overall quality was far below my expectations. The service was slow and the staff didn’t seem very attentive. For the price they charge, the experience was definitely not worth it. I will not be coming back and do not recommend this place.

This used to be one of my favorite personal hotpot spots, but unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill over the years. I ordered the extra spicy broth and was surprised to find it barely mild, definitely not what I expected. My parents also had trouble using the mobile ordering system, and instead of offering assistance, the waiter simply walked away. Disappointing service and underwhelming food. Not sure I’ll be returning anytime soon.

Just finished a great lunch and I realized that I love Tasty Pot :). What I like most and that goes for all great chain or franchise restaurants are their dishes never wavers and always taste consistently good. Their hot soups are so flavorful.

Parking is easy. I have been here many time. I have tried most of their pots and would say the taste of these pots are not bad, good favor. You can always ask to add more soup.
Personally I think the prices are on the little pricey side, just not enough meat, but it should be enough for most people.

Beef hotpot – 5/5, they refill the soup when asked. Eat the imitation crab and beef first so they don’t overcook. Eat the clam last so it absorbs flavor

Boba with 75% sugar, jelly, boba – 4/5 very sweet, would try 50% sugar next time. Jelly is chewy/crunchy/qq, boba is sweet and chewy.

Good bowl of hot soup with noodles.
Order from phone after scanning QR code. Service is average, since they don’t take your order. Just bring your food when ready, no beverage refill, and bring your bill at the end. Make sure you submit your order at the end.

The lady server is VERY rude. I gave 15% tip regardless but she’s not deserving it. Constantly being rude, dismissive and yells at us. Regret coming in for lunch. I love tasty pot though so I’ll still go to other locations in the future.

Their little pre-assembled hot pots are OK. It looks nothing like their marketing photos though. I had the #12, seafood hot pot $22 and added meatballs $4. I kept the default setting when ordering on the QR coded website, which was no spicy and pork soup. The food tasted fine. The side of meatballs were still frozen inside and I had to leave it in the hot soup for a while. After a few bites, I should have ordered it with some spice. They only have hot sauce and soy sauce as condiments at the table. I asked the waiter for some hoisin sauce for the seafood but they don’t have it. I also asked for maybe some peanut sauce or sesame oil or ginger but they also don’t have that either. What?! A hot pot restaurant without sauces. It is kind of ridiculous. Service was fine.

The biggest thing that surprised me how FAST they got out our orders. They have a system that you scan the QR code on thr table and order your food from there. The hotpot itself was really tasty, but they didn’t really give much meat or veggies even if you ordered extra. But if this is your first hotpot experience, it’s not that big of a deal. If you’re used to hot pot you may be a bit disappointed with portion size.
I got the lamb pot and it was really good!
