I only come here for the dried Trieu Chau egg noodles with the soup on the side. I guess this is their specialty here. The cost of a bowl dried noodle is only $14.95 + $2.00 (extra for dried noodle) plus tax & everything else is about $20.77 per bowl. It is expensive. I can only eat here sometimes due to the high cost of tax & extra. The restaurant looks nice.

Tasty Bowl is a home-style Vietnamese restaurant with a cozy, no-frills vibe. The menu is somewhat limited, but the food and drinks were decent for the price. The restaurant itself feels a bit dated, and while service was generally okay, I did have to flag someone down for a water refill. Overall, it’s an okay spot if you’re looking for a simple Vietnamese meal without high expectations.

We go to Pho King right next door almost weekly, but for whatever reason Pho King was closed today so we decided to give this place a try.
I knew this wasn’t going to be as good because there were always more people at Pho King, but man it was absolutely terrible.
I ordered my usual pho with sliced steak, you know, the most vanilla pho there is next to chicken pho and I’ve never had it this bad. The beef that comes with the pho looks like scrap meat, and there was only a few pieces of it. I really tried to eat the pho, but I just couldn’t, the meat was tough and the soup tasted like it was made from powder.
Side note, they have weird highchairs that are not suitable for toddlers (the front bar is too low, child cannot put feet on the bottom bar without getting legs stuck), also, asked the scissors to cut up the noodles for toddler and there were only 2 pairs in the restaurant, both non functional.
Never again.

Very nice place in Oakland by the lake. It’s got an nice open space and has night out door dining to. So many options with food that I enjoyed. Good service was fast and good. And prices were good. Overall good experience and good food. Would recommend for a group of friends.

The best pho I’ve ever had! I had the steak pho and a taro milk tea. The milk tea was very weird tasting, and had grainy chunks of… ??? At the bottom haha. But the pho? Phenomenal!

cheat you on food. Pay $19 pho and got small portion of meat. Very disappointed.
I recommend you go somewhere else.

First time trying their food since they opened, I must say it is good. Order the (Beef over Ho Fun Noodles) to go, and when they say tasty bowl they really meant it!.. Comes with it’s own bowl.

I am vietnamese, have tried so many vietnamese restaurants in Oakland. I can say that Tasty bowl is the best vietnamese restaurant in the town. But I’m sure not many people knows that. The menu doesn’t have many dishes but the quality is excellent, like you are in Vietnam. I tried all in the menu, all is the best that i can find in USA. Everytime i finished the plats, nothing left in the bowl. I tried the restaurant beside – Pho K.. but it made me very disappointed, maybe it is good enough for the American because they don’t know how the real vietnamese taste is, but it is only zero for the real vietnamese like me. Everytime i go out for lunch or dinner, Tasty Bowl is my first choice. Price and customer service are great too.
