I had a very nice Father’s day lunch here. Pleasantly surprised by the creativity of the items and quality. We loved all the small plates and the entrees. The wine list is pretty decent, as well, with some French, Italian, and local choices. There are not too many fine dining experiences in the area and this one is a keeper!

Taste is hands-down one of the best restaurants in the foothills. The food is spot-on every time — super flavorful, thoughtful, and just really well executed. You can tell the kitchen cares about what they’re putting out.
Service is always friendly and dialed-in without being over the top. It’s the kind of place where you settle in, have a great meal, and walk out already talking about when you’re coming back.
Whether it’s a date night or just because you don’t feel like cooking, Taste never misses.

What a treat! We decided to go wine tasting in the area and decided to stop here for lunch. The service was exceptional, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was lovely. We were also surprised by the incredibly affordable prices for the quality of food. It may have been one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. If you are in the area this is a must!

After the bad experience in the Story vinery, this beautiful place made our day. Great food and Atmosphere. Excellent service. Prefix menu was absolutely fantastic. Caviar was fabulous. I purchased a strudel and duck breast. Strudel was perfectly cooked, duck breast was good, just not the way I like it, from my own personal taste. I would recommend this place for the Michelin star. Every round of food came with new shiny silverware . Waiter service was absolutely fantastic.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. Make sure you’re ready for the prices.

I have been enjoying their cuisine since before they moved to their current location in 2006. This is the only fine dining establishment within 20-30 minutes drive. They have a good wine list. Very friendly staff and the best bar tender in The Valley. This is not a Michelin star temple but very solid finer food. Great for a business dinner or a date. Always full of locals. On Thursday it is BYO wine ( if you want) when you sit at the bar. That is a great place to meet the locals

This 10 Star restaurant is amazing! Food is most creative and absolutely delicious. Service is amazing, the chef is personable and engaging. His gourmet talents are reflected in his menu offerings. This is California’s hidden golden gem in the old gold rush foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. A must go dining experience.

This lovely restaurant is hidden away from the madding crowd in the small town of Plymouth. It delivers a tasting prix fixe menu with top notch selections to choose from. We enjoyed a delicious filet mignon, rack of lamb, french onion soup was really delicious and very different from other places. The baby beet salad was literally scrumptious. When visiting the nearby Shenandoah valley wine country it is a great place to finish the day in the evening, possibly spending the night in the luxurious Rest boutique hotel next door, both offering similar levels of fantastic service. Highly recommended for those looking for new culinary experiences.

This place is awesome. We stopped by on a Saturday around noon after driving through downtown Plymouth looking for a sandwich shop/cafe/etc. We had no idea of what we walked in on. Very personable and attentive staff, nicely designed restaurant, and amazing food.
We had to try the “Mid-Day Mushroom Cigars” (crimini, shiitake and oyster mushrooms, fresh herbs and goat cheese wrapped in phyllo) and honestly, I’d order these every day of the week if I could. There is a reason these have never left their menu since they opened. Next we split the “Taste Burger” (bacon jam, goat cheese aioli, arugula, mushrooms, alongside some truffle-rosemary fries). Also very good and the fries were addictive and crunchy. Absolutely going back the next time we are driving through.
NOTE: Only on weekends do they offer lunch.

A real gem, genuine fine dining experience. Exceptional food! Wonderful wait staff. If there aren’t any reservation times available online, give them a call. Excellent wine money featuring various local wines plus some rare French wines. You choose from a 3-course or 5-course menu, or sometimes a special prix fixe menu that may include wine pairing add-on.
Some locals warned us that we “may be hungry after eating at Taste” but in my opinion the portions are perfect, reminiscent of European fine dining.
