We were actually the very first customers when Taste of Village opened, and it’s been amazing to see how beautifully they’ve grown! Even on opening day, everything was perfect — the food, the service, and the warm hospitality. You could tell right away that the team put their heart into every detail.
The dishes were full of authentic Indian flavors, freshly made, and beautifully presented. The butter chicken and naan were all outstanding. The staff were so welcoming and genuinely happy to serve, which made the experience even more special.
Taste of Village has quickly become one of the best Indian restaurants in Victoria. I’m so glad we got to be there from the very beginning — and it’s only gotten better since! Highly recommend to anyone who loves great food and great service.

We had a delicious dinner here! We ordered the Chicken Tikka, Malai Kofta and Vegetable Pakoras. The chicken was perfectly done and tender, the Malai Kofta sauce was so good and it came with naan included to mop up the sauce, and the veggie pakoras were tasty and had a yummy sauce with them, which went particularly well with the wine we got. I was psyched to see they had the Damasco from Zanatta Winery, a local producer. It’s a great wine and an excellent pairing with Indian cuisine. Three weeks in they are still getting the service dialed in, but they are super friendly. I asked our host to pick three dessert selections from their impressively diverse selection, and he picked them in a range of sweetness, which was fun to taste. Will definitely go again. Don’t be put off by the somewhat odd name – it’s great!
If you can judge an ethnic restaurant by the percentage of patrons matching the ethnicity of the restaurant, they are doing well on that score. Fun music too! I suspect some of the 1-star reviews are competitors trying to lower their ranking, those reviews don’t look genuine.

I recently ate here, and it was amazing! The food was full of rich, authentic flavors — the butter chicken was creamy and tender, and the garlic naan was fresh and perfectly cooked. The service was just as impressive; the staff were friendly, helpful, and made great recommendations. Everything came out quickly and beautifully presented. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I’ll definitely be going back!

Taste of Village is an amazing spot for authentic Indian food!
I tried their Channa Bhathura, Kulcha Channa, Amritsari Kulcha, and Lemonade everything was absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor.
The prices are also very reasonable and much cheaper compared to other places on the island, which makes it even better!
A special mention to Simran, who served us she was super polite and provided great customer service. The two owners are also very humble and welcoming, always making sure customers are happy and satisfied.
Highly recommend this place to anyone craving real Indian taste at great prices!

One of the best Amritsari kulchas I’ve had! Freshly made, well-stuffed, and cooked to perfection with just the right amount of butter. The chole were rich and flavorful. It was so big and I made two meals with that one kulcha order. Clean place and quick service too. Highly recommended!”

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. We went for the lunch buffet, which was priced around $20, and it felt like money wasted. The food appeared stale, as if it had been sitting out for hours possibly longer. Much of it was so poorly presented that we couldn’t even tell what the dishes were, and the server had to explain them to us. Fresh food and better upkeep of the buffet are definitely needed. Hopefully, this is something they address rather than letting standards slip further.
The atmosphere was equally underwhelming. The restaurant was almost empty, which was already a concerning sign. To make matters worse, YouTube ads were playing continuously in the background, and no one seemed to bother skipping them. Overall, the experience felt lifeless and neglected.

Ordered 3 things but recieved different items and manager told I have give your order to the driver which was correct and driver change the order. He was rude on call like he is giving free items to us and I think nobody should go their restaurant because they don’t have manners how to talk to the guest even they were wrong and not accepting their mistake and just blaming uber driver. Worst people and restaurant ever.
