I had a very disturbing experience at TOT. I was in town visiting for the holidays—I frequented TOT for years some time ago when I was in high school, and decided to have dinner here.
My server, who is a different ethnicity and female, was extremely attentive and helped me find a new dish—I had the truffle sashimi 10/10. There were other employees waiting tables as well the owner. I had pleasant interactions with all of the waitstaff, one who clarified a dish presentation, which was slightly different than I’m used to.
While dining, one of the sushi chefs yells across the restaurant (there were about 4/5 occupied tables) in an demeaning and aggressive tone my server, who was dropping off food at another table, a table number. She responded that’s where she was. He proceeds to talk to the other sushi chef in a different language, I assume about the situation. The owner comes out and the sushi chef says something directly to her about the situation in a different language and same condensing tone, as my server walked up. He raised his voice again and the owner seems to passively chastise the sever, whilst saying nothing to the sushi chef. Soon after the owner grabs her things and leaves the restaurant.
I was appalled at how this man talked to both the female owner and server, in front of customers. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I’ve never experienced anything like this while dining. My server apologized for his behavior. Insane.
I am disgusted and disappointed this was my experience. I hope the owner is able to figure out to maintain a respectful and comfortable environment for all guests and employees. It’s so unfortunate how nasty ppl can be and ruin what had the potential to be a great experience.

Had lunch here with 10 of my coworkers. The food was great but my bosses food didn’t come in time for him to eat with the team.
Other than that we tried The Wildcat Roll, The Coco Roll, The Shell Roll, Shrimptinis, Taste of Tokyo Tuna Sushanmi, Fish Tacos, Squid Salad, Hibachi lunches… it was nore but I can’t remember everything. The food was good. I hope my boss let’s us come back..
I’d return on my own tho!

Well I would say this is our best place to come at least once a week since we are about 50mins away. The service is outstanding, the people there are very nice and kind. It’s a different feeling then other places. The food is always so perfect. From the hibachis and rolls just very good. This is a nice hole in the wall place to go. Thanks for all y’all do. Keep it up!
