My girlfriend and I went here tonight for a girls hang. We pulled into the lot and the DJ had music playing immediately putting you into a nice vibe. Although at the time we went there were not many people there but our food was great! We both had oxtails and conch fritters. Lena our host, was personable and welcoming. FYI Thursday nights is DJ night☺️ We will be back and I hope others make it out to support this business.

We’d been looking around the area for good Caribbean fare. For example, many places offer jerk chicken, but it’s more like ordinary chicken with jerk as an afterthought. This place, however, offers *authentic* Caribbean. We had Jerk Chicken, Conch Fritters, Coconut Shrimp, and a couple of Red Stripes for lunch. Everything was excellent:
Real house-made fritters, full of conch. No pre-formed frozen stuff.
The Shrimp were large, fresh, properly cooked and delicious.
And the Jerk Chicken was the best I’ve ever eaten. Can’t wait to try out the rest of the menu.
The proprietress was very gracious, and spent some time conversing with us. Altogether a pleasant experience. We’ll definitely be back.

This is the first time that my family and I visited this establishment. It’s unbelievable how very good this food was. Flavor to perfection. I felt like I was in the caribbeans. The portions were more than enough. And the service was absolutely excellent. If you want Caribbean food run, don’t walk, to Taste of The Tropics. I’m not easy to impress, but we all were highly impressed eating here. We are visiting here from Columbus Georgia Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Houston and Texas Dallas. we all enjoyed our food. We had oxtails jerk chicken Brown stew chicken and curry goat. The prices were very reasonable also.

I can’t recommend this hidden gem enough! I got the oxtail, my husband got the jerk chicken, a couple piping hot beef patties, and some crispy crunchy bammy. There wasn’t a grain of rice left on our plates when we were done – it was absolutely authentic and finger licking delicious. I couldn’t even wait to take a photo of the food, had to dig in as soon as the plate hit the table! I’ve been struggling with the lack of authentic ethnic food culture in the area and this meal almost brought tears to my eyes.
The owner, Lina, said she’s working on updating the decor and creating a bigger dining area in the back for larger parties. She was so sweet and welcoming – I’ll definitely be back and will be recommending Taste of the Tropics to everyone I know!

This was the most foul food I ever tasted in my life. I heard the microwave go and when I tried to give benefit of doubt I was wrong. Rice was dehydrated like it was a reheat oxtails were rubber like and plantains were not soft or flavorful coconut shrimp was okay but not done

*Sharing my experience after my second visit where we dined in.
Lena and her staff is simply delightful and extremely accommodating.
The food / dinner was “on point” !
Her conversations and caring attitude, makes you feel very relaxed and somewhat like family. This will not be the last time for us and I will also share my experience with family and friends.
Well done Team Taste of the Tropics, keep up the great work and I am hooked as you captivated me with your tea selection…
