Ordered the Rasta pasta with oxtail and was honestly shocked. For the price, I expected flavor and a good sized portion — but got one lonely oxtail and pasta that tasted like it forgot the seasoning. It was bland, underwhelming, and looked like it had been sitting for a while. Definitely not giving authentic Jamaican vibes, especially at that price point. Wouldn’t order again, or ever come back.

I really wanted to like Taste of the Caribbean, but the food just didn’t deliver. The portions were small for the price, and the flavor was lacking. I asked for spicy and thankfully received a sauce on the side, which gave the food some taste, but it shouldn’t take extra sauce to bring out flavor. With so many great Caribbean options across the DMV, I wouldn’t recommend this one.

My boyfriend and I had the jerk chicken and the mac and cheese. Needless to say we spent $72 and we will not be back. The jerk chicken was WAY to overly seasoned and the mac and cheese had too much of a kick to the point you couldn’t even taste it.
The oxtails were the only thing we could eat out of $72 worth of food!!!!!!

Today was first time going back to eat for lunch because I had a taste for some doubles. Several things were a problem. The patty was small and the meat was dry. The doubles seemed old from the day before. We ordered on line and the issue online duplicated my order and it was missed up when go there. It took another 30 plus minutes after dealing with an extremely rude person at the register. I called back to share my issues with the food and they still weren’t nice on the phone. I will never go back.

My food was part of a larger order. I ordered a Jerk Chicken Salad. The salad had so much jerk chicken “juice”, I thought my salad was soup. The Jerk chicken was really spicy so I couldn’t enjoy the salad-soup. We also had the Mac n cheese and it was very dry. The Red velvet cake was pretty good. It was moist and had good flavor. My friend had the Rosta Pasta and she said it was overcooked. We’re helping this was just a singular incident and maybe it was just a bad day…

The best thing about this place is that there’s plenty of parking and seating available, which made waiting for my order a bit more comfortable. Service and atmosphere were both okay—nothing exceptional but not terrible either.
Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. I ordered the chow mein/lo mein, and it was honestly one of the worst dishes I’ve had, especially considering the $20 price tag. The flavor was bland and unappealing. For that price, I expected much better quality and taste.

This use to be one of my favorite Jamaican restaurants in the area, but it has fallen off tremendously. I spent well over one hundred dollars on 4 entrees that largely went in the garbage. The snapper was over cooked and mushy with no flavor. When I went to order it the staff was unsure if they even had it then came back and they found some. I should’ve taken that as a sign because it tasted as if they pulled it out the freezer and fried it. I subbed white rice for the rice and beans for 2 of the entrees – the rice was parboiled and had zero flavor. I, at the least, expected jasmine rice but even uncle Ben’s would’ve been better than what I had. Jerk shrimp was so overly seasoned it wasn’t edible. The only thing that was decent was the salmon. Veggies were fair at best and the rice and beans were very blah in the other entrees.
I won’t be going here again because this isn’t the first time I’ve received subpar food and frankly it’s too expensive to not be pleased. Staff is very nice though.

I’ve been trying to restrain myself from posting a negative review but at this point I’ve had enough about a year ago. I ordered a soup and found a roach in my soup! A year later being yesterday I ordered some food from Uber Eats. Giving them a second chance with my order! the food was all cold. My puri was hard. I tried contacting the store to see if the issue can be rectified however, I called four different times and no one answered. I tried calling again this morning and no one answered. on my order My white pudding was missing. However, my money was never reimbursed for the missing item or I was never contacted for a substitute item on the receipt it just states that it’s out at store but nothing else. I’ve been trying to call the store because it’s not Uber Eats fault. It’s the store‘s fault. No one is answering. It would be an inconvenience for me to have to go up there for something simple as this. I will not be buying from this establishment again!

I ordered curry chicken with extra gravy over my rice and peas with a side of mac and cheese, fried plantain and coco bread and it was seasoned to perfection. This restaurant is 30 mins from where I live and I will definitely come back. They have late hours in comparison to other Caribbean restaurants. The restaurant was clean and the amount of food they give was ex large I feel like I got my moneys worth and some.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. That’s a bonus for me because other Caribbean restaurants that I have visited they weren’t very nice. I give them 10 ⭐️
