Best Thai food in Kingwood area! Consistently good food with decent portions. The red currie, basil fried rice, and thai dumplings are a family favorite. Generally not very busy for a sit down meal, but have noticed several takeouts when picking up my own. Parking at storefront is a hit or miss, but there is a parking lot behind the restaurant with plenty of spots.

Came here for an early lunch. There were out of a few menu items. It was a nice morning and sat on the sidewalk tables. Service felt rushed, or annoyed that we ate there. All the rest of the orders were to-go. Food was good. Especially the mango sticky rice.

We have ordered takeout here multiple times and always enjoyed it. But now it seems like they changed their curry recipes. The curry is watery and more like a soup than a creamy sauce. There’s no taste of coconut milk in the sauce. Only small amount of meat and veggies. No depth of flavor or complexity. The noodle dishes and appetizers are good. But the curry is very disappointing these days.

Absolutely amazing food! Every dish we ordered had fantastic flavor so it seems you can’t go wrong ordering anything here. You’re also given the option of spice levels with most dishes. The service was impressive as well. Definitely recommend trying it out.

I really liked this place. It did need some explanation when you walked in, which we never received (appetizer bar, still don’t know how it worked).
The food was really good. The basil and pork fried rice was seasoned well and tasted great. To my surprise, it was loaded with pork! The pork pieces were too big for me, and I had to cute them. All-in-all delicious. The Tom guy soup was light with a hint of coconut flavor. I like that it was not all I tasted. Tom Yum was nice with a good soccer kick ( I ordered medium). A delicious rich flavor.
We will definitely be going back.

Amazing experience. The restaurant has a retro feel and is very clean. We had shrimp spring rolls and they were tasty and crunchy. I had the Pad Prik Khing with chicken and red curry.. wow my tastebuds exploded so good!

Oh my gosh, this restaurant is 100% the best Thai restaurant in Texas. I cannot believe how good the food was and the service was absolutely amazing. Lek is so smart and knew every dish on the menu. If you haven’t been to this restaurant you are missing out on an amazing experience

We love this place! Usually we order takeout from here but we have been to the restaurant probably 3 times to dine in. They are always nice, polite, and respectful. The soft fresh rolls are soooo good and the Tom kha gai soup is divine. We have never had an entree we didn’t love, and we’ve had quite a few from pad Thai, pad woon sen, ploys, tiger cried, sushi, and more. This place has made me love Thai food for years!

First time there, it apparently has 3 different names. Texas Rising Hana, Taste of Thai and Ploy. Walked in and the waitress was by herself and seemed frazzled. Took awhile to get menus and drinks ordered. She didn’t even greet us, she just kind of tossed the menus down on the table and walked away. Food was okay, imitation crab meat tasted just like the store frozen meat. Nothing special for us, we will not be returning. Just not worth the 40 min drive.
