We were in town for a track meet and decided to try something new instead of our “go-to favorite”. Well, this may now be the new “go-to favorite”. The food was fantastic. Half pounder burgers, battered fries, and homemade okra were plenty to leave stuffed. I had the mushroom Swiss burger (which I ended up eating open-faced because it’s pretty messy), and my friend got the Texas Twister. They were juicy and delicious, the fries and okra were fantastic, and the waitress was awesomely sassy.. You’ll definitely see us again!

Excellent food and service! We happened upon this place on our travels and we were not disappointed. The parking lot was packed when we pulled up. A decent crowd means the locals know where the good grub can be found!!!

I was greeted and seated quickly and my waitress was helpful and detailed. I wish the rest of the experience was the same. I got a 3 meat plate. Cornbread and okra for sides. Also ordered a half rack. The waitress spoke highly of the food so thought I’d have a good meal for later. The ribs had bark sadly it was burnt with terrible flavor. My gums hurt after trying to eat a couple bones… brisket was the same a bite was tender, then a wad of fat then dry meat. Kinda like eating toothpicks. The pulled pork just tasted like wood, edible not horribly dry. The hot link was juicy and flavorful. I hate leaving reviews like this. Hopefully it helps the pit master not be so lax and change something to improve the quality of the BBQ. The service is outstanding and hate to see a good BBQ not able to put good food out.

We were heading west on US 34 saw sign Taste of Texas BBQ 8 miles ahead, passed it up had turn around glad we did. We had beef brisket, pulled pork and bake potatoe, meat was very tender and good flavor. Hope to be back when traveling through town again.

An absolute diamond family owned restaurant. I do a fair amount of travel for work in small communities, and get tired of the same ol chain restaurants. So nice to have a home style meal on the road. Catfish was a large portion and hot. Sides were average and corn bread was ok. 5 star for fast, friendly and family atmosphere. Will return.

This place was absolutely incredible! Best Burger ever. I got the Mac and cheese burger. The chicken fried chicken is absolutely amazing and tender and my dad got the meat platter they brought out and actual chicken cut in half!!! It was awesome I’ve never seen anything like it! I can’t wait to go back

To say mediocre food would actually be over the top. We waited well over an hour to be served cold prime rib, dry tough ribs, and the Mac and cheese wasn’t even edible to our kids. The service was awful. Don’t mind spending $ for good food, but this place isn’t it.

Got into town about 20 minutes before closing and they were more than accommodating getting me a takeout order, though some things weren’t available as they were already starting to close the kitchen, I get it. Portion sizes were good, and the bar in the back was a good place to wait for my order. Pretty cool taxidermy display too.
