Taste of Spice truly lives up to its name! They are super welcoming. The girl up on the front counter is such a sweetheart. And when I told her that we are on a long trip she did all her best she could do to provide a best customer service. A special thanks to her for everything.
I tried the chicken curry, baingan bharta, and tawa roti, and everything was absolutely delicious. The chicken curry was rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The baingan bharta had that authentic smoky taste and was cooked just right. The tawa roti was soft, fresh, and the perfect accompaniment to the dishes. The Indian tea was aromatic, comforting, and tasted just like authentic homemade chai.
Great food, authentic flavors, and a satisfying experience overall. Highly recommend this place if you’re craving real Indian comfort food.

We opted for a la carte. Disappointed about the buffet. The staples that you would often see at Indian buffets were not there.

I think the biggest issue for me is that for the price of the menu items, the servings were incredibly small. I have no issue paying for better quality food and more delicious food. However, even with that to consider, the prices just did not make sense.

Cant leave a good enough review!!! Absolutely mindblowing food and service! Not to mention a wonderful atmosphere! My partner and I travel all around the country/world for work so we’ve eaten at ALOT of Indian resturants, plus ive lived in Dubai for 7 years myself and this “Taste of Spice” has got to be one of the TOP places we’ve eaten at!! Owner was an absolute sweetheart- loved her energy and definitely knows her stuff! 110% would go back here! So glad we found this gem! Will be back here often!

Taste of Spice was a great find in Portage la Prairie. The food was excellent — we ordered the biryani and it was absolutely delicious, full of flavour and well cooked.
What really made us come back again and again during our one-month stay in Southport was their masala chai. It was spot on and reminded us of home.
Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area and craving good Indian food and authentic chai.

Very good food and friendly knowledgeable service. With a great selection of authentic Indian dishes I was unfamiliar with many of the names but our server took the time to explain some of them and recommend ones which would suit our tastes. The food was served in reasonable time considering they make everything from scratch and flavourful. Also the restaurant is located right along the main avenue with plentiful nearby parking or on the street in front and the restaurant beautiful inside with lots of good ambience. Highly recommend.

I finally visitedTaste of Spice for the first time with a friend. I wish I had tried it earlier! The service was friendly and welcoming. I was very appreciative at the level of care taken to accommodate my dietary restrictions, which is usually very stressful for me. The staff graciously addressed all my inquiries which made the experience very pleasant and relaxing. And as for the food? It was some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had!

Wonderful service. We had Gol Gappe first, the spicy level was a little high so it kinda overwhelmed my taste buds. I ordered the platter to get a taste of everything. Food was delicious and tasty. The Naan bread is my favorite!!
Only note: the washrooms doesn’t have changing tables for babies. So we couldn’t change our baby.
