Had a craving and acted on it. They didn’t disappoint at all! Had an original Philly with jalapeños and my mouth is still burning and nose is still running…and I wouldn’t change a thing. They even brought my sandwich out to my car (not expected or requested) because I didn’t want to leave my dog alone. 100! I’ll be back when the craving hits again.

It’s Boss’s Day today… so I’m reviewing one of the restaurants our boss chose to eat at during one of our recent work trips to Colorado.
Taste of Philly in Colorado Springs offers a variety of hot and cold sandwiches. Because of the name, I went with “The Works”, which included slices of meat, bell peppers, and provolone cheese. For some reason, I was expecting slices of meat smothered in provolone cheese. Instead, I got dry, chopped meat and barely any cheese. The bread was too much if you’re talking about a bread:meat:cheese ratio. The flavor was a little bland.
The service was nice though. The man who took our order at the counter was friendly and had a smile on his face.
The ambiance is very casual. It’s definitely not my style but it’s comfortable.
Overall, this place is just ok. Food was underwhelming and, unfortunately, didn’t finish my sandwich – and I usually love sandwiches – just not this one. I wasn’t a fan of the chopped meat.

Alex took care of us and he was great ! We sat and talked about Jesus for a couple of hours and the staff even came and talked with us and we laughed and joked for a while! Until it was closing time hahaha
And the Philly was quite good aswell!

I love this place! I always get the original Philly with Cheez Whiz and fries. It’s definitely enough to make two meals out of it. My wife has had several other items on the menu and they have all been delicious. The service is great, prices are reasonable, and the restaurant itself is bright and clean. Definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a good Philly sandwich.

The staff here was being unreasonably slow while talking and making orders. It wasn’t even busy. It took over ten minutes for someone to take an order I ended up leaving and eating else where and I love the food here which is crazy. My friend stayed and they took another 15 mins to put Philly together. He said the cashier must have been high cause the cashier missed half the order and was non chalent like it’s no big deal it happens all the time there They need a new kitchen crew on 8 th street in Colorado Springs. I go to the one in broomfield all the time and never had to wait ten minutes for someone to take my order even when they’re busy

New ownership at the 8th street location has ruined the best cheesesteaks and salads in town. Always order the same items and they continue to get worse over time. Pepper Philly with jalapeños added has more jalapeños than meat on the sandwich with less cheese then before. Salads includes less toppings. I exclude half the toppings on a tossed salad but don’t even get the toppings I ask for like zero green peppers or red peppers. It’s tough to order from a place that continues to get a salad order wrong every single time. They include like ten toppings on a salad but I eliminate half of them. They can’t even include the few toppings I would like on a salad so Im done ordering from this location. Each location is independently owned and the 8th street location has shown that they do not care about the standards of their own food products anymore. Bye bye to the once good cheesesteak place. I’ll find a new place after today.
