I loved this place! The ceviche mixto was super fresh and full of flavor, and the chicha morada was so good — not too sweet, just perfect. The arroz chaufa de camarones was amazing, and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. I also tried the parihuela soup, and it was rich, tasty, and full of seafood. Great portions, friendly service, and cozy atmosphere. Totally recommend it!

I thoroughly excited to find an AUTHENTIC Peruvian restaurant and enjoy my experience from the time I entered and left the establishment. When I entered, I can feel the nostalgic and history of Peru through the beautiful artwork and pictures. The place was crowded which is a good sign and atmosphere is extremely personable, and family orientated. I was greeted by the waitress offered excellent service throughout my experience and follow up by the owner who personally introduced himself. He was extremely personable and asked me if I knew what I wanted. I ordered a avocado salad and a chicken and cilantro rice for my entrees, and a Peru soda. He proceeded to educate me on the dishes, and relay the message verbatim to the waitress who was on her way to talk my order. I truly love how engage the owner is with the guest and working with the staff to assist in any possible way. This makes me feel appreciated and care for as if I was apart of the family dynamics. The avocado salad taste so good, fresh, and crisp. The chicken and cilantro rice came out stemming hot. The flavors were everything I needed and did not disappoint. I had enough food to bring left over home! Before I left, the waitress and owner made sure to personal greet me as I exited the establishment. I would come back here. The food was absolutely amazing, reasonable prices, clean establishment, exceptional customer service with a family oriented vibe. Love it!

Took my best friend out here and the meal was absolutely divine. The flan? Fantastic. The ribeye? So juicy and tender. The rice? The grain equivalent of falling off the bone. The owner was such a sweet soul. I could tell he loves his community.

This place is amazing. The food is utterly delicious. Was unaware it was on the Michelin bib awards for multiple years.
We tried the Peruvian Chicken which is only available after 2:30 and sells out quick. Flavorful and succulent. The fried rice is some of the best I’ve had. And the seafood they give amazing potion sizes. For what you get and what you pay. The value is great. Will now be a regular here

Went there for the first time with a dear friend for our shared birthdays. I had the Choros A La Chalaca for an appetizer and Arroz Con Mariscos as an entrée. The portions were very generous and there was no skimping on the seafood. We brought our own bottle of tequila and mix for the celebration. The service was excellent and I can’t wait to go back and sample some other great Peruvian dishes.

What a wonderful place! We are foodies, and we actually now live in the close in Chicago suburbs, but after having dinner at Taste of Peru this week for the first time, I can tell you it’s fantastic, that I will go back, and that it will be worth the drive into the city! We went on a Wednesday night, party of 6. We decided to order family style and had the Tamales with Chicken (Guy Fieri’s Favorite), the Ceviche Mixto, the Lomo Saltado which was a delicious beef dish with mixed with tomatoes, onions and french fries, Arroz con Mariscos, Fried Yuca, and other things. Everything was fantastic. I would order them all again. But we also had desserts – cheesecake, rice pudding with cinnamon (which everyone really loved) and the Helado de Lucuma (a delightful and unique ice cream dish native to Peru). Madelein was our server and took excellent care of us. Service top notch. And bonus on top, we took a few bottles of wine as it’s a BYOB place. I’ll add (and it’s sad) that in the past few weeks I’ve been to several restaurants and ALL of them have been saying that it has been very slow. That many people are either being fiscally conservative OR they’re actually afraid to go out in public, which is just a horrible shame. That said, do all you can to support this place. It’s nice, service is great, food is excellent, and they deserve everyone’s business!

super low-key and unassuming, yet one of my favorite Peruvian restaurants I’ve been to in the United States!! the Ceviche was some of the best I’ve ever had, and the Arroz con Pollo was mind-blowingly delicious. sorry my pics are great, but it’s only because the food was so good that I forgot to take a photo and had to take these pics while we had already eaten a lot.

The food was really good. The portions were large. Service was fast. It is BYOB so next I would bring a bottle of wine or beer. We ordered a couple of appetizers for 3 people which was enough.

Absolutely delicious food. The Aji De Gahina was fantastic. Service is good but can be minimal and not very friendly, but that doesn’t really matter when the food is this good
