The Food:
Availability: We started by ordering the Chicken Lollipop, but they were out of stock.
Schezwan Tandoori Chicken: This was disappointing. It was essentially just standard tandoori chicken dipped in Schezwan sauce rather than being a distinct dish.
Chef’s Specials: We tried the Ginga (Shrimp) and the Chicken Darwari. The shrimp dish was actually quite good! However, the Chicken Darwari was underwhelming—it felt like basic tandoori chicken thrown into a butter chicken gravy. Nothing about it felt “special.”
The Verdict:
I don’t mind paying a premium, but the items should justify the price with better execution. Overall, it’s a solid choice when you have limited options late at night in Seattle, but the flavors didn’t quite live up to the “Chef’s Special” label.
Pro Tip: If you’re looking for a late-night vibe with live music, sit in the bar area!
The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even better. Portions were generous, and everything felt freshly made. I also loved the way they balanced spices bold but never overwhelming. Whether you’re a fan of street food, classic curries, or flavorful vegetarian dishes, Taste of Mumbai has something for everyone.
Definitely a place I’ll be returning to, and I highly recommend it to anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine in a warm, welcoming setting.
This is my third time going! Highly recommend the pani puri, pav bhaji, cheese chicken dosa, and the Chettinad or Mumbai Special Smoked curry. The music they play is bubbly and inviting. Highly recommend dining in! I’ll be back for their upcoming karaoke nights
Also the staff was SO NICE! They taught us how to eat pani puri, recommended dishes, and made sure we were enjoying our time.
Also the Indian music banged!
