First time here… Went after going to the Bible museum and recommended by friends… So glad we went! They are only open a few hours and you better get there early, lol… Went on a Friday around 12:00 p.m. and they were packed, we had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes for a table for five. As you can see it’s not that big of a seating area. The staff were very friendly and welcoming! Some delicious southern food… I had the country style ribs with three sides… But in total we had five plates and 5 waters, 3 desserts.. $105 ish. If you have read any of my reviews you know I am a macaroni and cheese fan, but I think this is the first time that it was not my favorite thing on the plate, needed more seasoning for me. The catfish was fried to perfection, the seasoning was on point, it was not greasy or soggy, probably some of the best if not the best catfish I’ve ever had! They have something called pineapple casserole… To me the name does not seem appetizing And when I think of pineapple with cheese on it, doesn’t really seem like something I would go for but this was delicious!!! I had never heard of it before, never seen it and I don’t know how you make it but I definitely want more of that!! The peanut butter ice cream pie was phenomenal… I literally could eat a whole pie!!! I wish they had more seating but it was definitely worth the wait… A small little parking area with an old church building sitting on the corner of a street was a gem!! Highly recommend this place!!

The food was wonderful and the service was genuine. Very glad I was able to try this restaurant out. If you’re in the area it is a welcome to the south style country cooking. Lots of love and thought put into each item we ate. Very affordable as well.

The wait was not too bad. The food was good but a little salty. I had the baked chicken breast pieces with dressing, gravy, and turnips. The cornbread was tasty. The dressing was really good and well seasoned. The turnips might compare to Gloria’s brand. I tried both the buttermilk pie and strawberry cobbler. They were both good, but I favor the strawberry cobbler. This place is worth another visit when looking to enjoy home made meals at a reasonable cost. My meal was under $20.00.

Quaint old church converted into a restaurant. Meals were priced reasonably, ample food served. I had the fried catfish, baked Mac and cheese, Broccoli Salad and Hush puppies. Our server was very personable and our meal came out relatively fast. Parking is limited. We went at 12:00 p.m. I would highly recommend.

First time. We have wanted to eat here for a while. Finally able to arrive before 2pm. I ordered the Poppy Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and Mac n Cheese with Peach Cobbler for dessert. My wife ordered the Sherry Chicken with Green Beans and Turnip Greens with Peach Cobbler for dessert. Everything came out quickly and hot. I loved the portion size. Our server, Kaitlynn did a great job keeping our glasses full. This will be a treat for us in the future when we can get here early enough. This location is highly recommended!

My first time dining here. I walked in and sat on a bench waiting for my friend, no one asked if i needed to be seated or anything. I went to the cashier and asked should i just sit anywhere? She apologized and got me a waiter. He was attentive and friendly, gave his opinions and suggestions which was helpful. Ordered salmon croquettes, Mac n cheese, peas and yams. It came hot and portion size was ok. It was on the bland side for my taste but tasted fresh. Overall good experience and I’ll be back to try something else from the menu.

Unique, charming restaurant in La Grange. Definitely a wonderful experience with wonderful food and wonderful service. Would recommend to anyone who is in the area as it is a quaint, historic location. Delicious comfort food like someone’s grandma or mom made it, served on plates you’d eat off of at someone’s home. Will be back again.

Enjoyed my meal so much I had to get another one to go for a family member too. Service is top notch. I’m under the impression that the menu changes with the seasons; but I didn’t ask & do not know for sure, so check in often to what’s available.
