we’ve never had ‘southern’ indian food before. samosas has a delicious, flaky outer shell which was great. the curry was rich and creamy. I got coconut chicken curry and the wife got a cauliflower korma. They both seemed to be made from the dame curry base. the chicken was fresh and delicate.

This was my boyfriends and my first time eating Kerala food. We have a great time. Some of the food wasn’t our tastes but we are sure we didn’t get the right things. I am vegetarian and I had a bunch of options to pick from and it was amazing. The food was fairly priced and most was very good. I loved it and I will definitely go back.

I really liked the ambience here. The place was clean and had plenty of space. We ordered appam, fish Molly and beef ulathiyatthu. Maybe it’s because I had really high expectations, but the beef ulathiyatthu did not taste like the ones I had before. It seemed like they had some random spice pasted on top of it. Far from authentic. Fish Molly was decent. The portions are really small though. Overall, it was an okay experience.

Taste of Kerala is an amazing authentic Malayali restaurant. We ordered the veg kurma and Malabar parotta, and we were blown away from the flavor and quality. The kurma had the perfect balance of spice and sweet, and the parotta had the right flaky texture. I would also like to commend the waiters for being quick and considerate.

August 2023: I got takeout for the family and ordered the bone-in-goat roast (medium spice), lamb tikki marsala (medium spice), and a mango lassi. We did not need to order any Naan or rice because those items came included. Reasonable pricing with 2 entrees, a beverage, and an arbitrary tip costing only $50.

Pros:
* Good food
* Friendly staff
* Clean restaurant
* Decorative ambiance with South Indian flair. The kathakali masks were especially intriguing as an introduction to the Indian deities and faith system.
* They have Indian beer, Maharaja, for the draft brewery enthusiasts.

Cons:
* We waited over 45 minutes for our food.
* The Naan was a little dry and flavorless, according to my family. I thought that it was okay if using the unleavened bread as a means to scoop up rice and meat.
* The parking is plentiful, but the blindspot coming out of the driveway can be tricky. Exercise caution.

Summary: The long wait time was probably due to the food that we ordered, but it was still somewhat inconvenient. I will return and dine in one day.

First visit-2018
Appam didn’t look like what I saw in picture or how it should look, porota beef was just ok,
taste was ok (but not very amazing),
food here is super expensive
(not a place for value for money),
they have buffet lunch, outdoor seating available, restrooms were not very clean, easy to find the location from road, they accept Samsung pay.

Second visit Dec 2019
Tried lunch buffet. Was horrible.
Worst ever buffet I tried in my entire life.
No more words. Will never ever go back.

Visited after 4 years Oct 2023
Food was very over priced.
Tried some new food items, some items were good this time and some were still bad. They use some dried coconut (for cake) in some dishes instead of fresh and that made some bad taste. Staff were friendly. Wait time was horrible, our table was not attended for a while and food took a lot of time. Parip vada tasted ok, but looked like a disaster. Poratta was good even though it was reheated frozen food. Kappa had some bad coconut. Beef tasted good, but chicken was not that great. May be not cooked in coconut oil. Tea was ok. Might not visit here again.

We have been to this restaurant a couple of times. Each time the food is consistently great. The buffet option at lunchtime offers good variety, but the dinners in the evening are very nice for a full sit down meal. The wait staff is genuinely warm. The place is clean and the food is cooked fresh to order. They have a large variety of vegetarian options and also goat and lamb dishes are available. The food is authentic but approachable and priced fairly.

The closest one can find authentic Kerala cuisine in Cleveland and they are quite good too. I found the portion to be not sufficient for the price we pay. Everything tasted pretty good though.
The best thing I liked was the porottas. They were just like how we get in Kerala, flaky and crispy.

Great place for some authentic Kerala food. We tried Vanjiram fish fry, Idiyappam with Kadala, Paneer Tikka masala, naan, Idli, Rice and rasam. Everything we ordered was excellent! Paneer tikka masala seems to have been made with Coconut oil – so doesn’t taste the way one might have had at other restaurants. Stick to traditional Kerala food and you will not be disappointed.

A unique, very good South Indian cousins. Idiyappam with black chick pea had the best flavours out of three meals we had.
Kuttanadan fish curry tastes awesome. It comes with rice.
My daughter had Mutter Paneer. That’s her favourite.
Overall, great South Indian restaurants in town. There aren’t many South Indian restaurants with unique South Indian cuisine in Ohio, and undoubtedly this is one of the best.
