Taste of Kerala – An authentic Kerala Restaurant: A Culinary …
Reviews
Pros:
* Good food
* Friendly staff
* Clean restaurant
* Decorative ambiance with South Indian flair. The kathakali masks were especially intriguing as an introduction to the Indian deities and faith system.
* They have Indian beer, Maharaja, for the draft brewery enthusiasts.
Cons:
* We waited over 45 minutes for our food.
* The Naan was a little dry and flavorless, according to my family. I thought that it was okay if using the unleavened bread as a means to scoop up rice and meat.
* The parking is plentiful, but the blindspot coming out of the driveway can be tricky. Exercise caution.
Summary: The long wait time was probably due to the food that we ordered, but it was still somewhat inconvenient. I will return and dine in one day.
Appam didn’t look like what I saw in picture or how it should look, porota beef was just ok,
taste was ok (but not very amazing),
food here is super expensive
(not a place for value for money),
they have buffet lunch, outdoor seating available, restrooms were not very clean, easy to find the location from road, they accept Samsung pay.
Second visit Dec 2019
Tried lunch buffet. Was horrible.
Worst ever buffet I tried in my entire life.
No more words. Will never ever go back.
Visited after 4 years Oct 2023
Food was very over priced.
Tried some new food items, some items were good this time and some were still bad. They use some dried coconut (for cake) in some dishes instead of fresh and that made some bad taste. Staff were friendly. Wait time was horrible, our table was not attended for a while and food took a lot of time. Parip vada tasted ok, but looked like a disaster. Poratta was good even though it was reheated frozen food. Kappa had some bad coconut. Beef tasted good, but chicken was not that great. May be not cooked in coconut oil. Tea was ok. Might not visit here again.
The best thing I liked was the porottas. They were just like how we get in Kerala, flaky and crispy.
Kuttanadan fish curry tastes awesome. It comes with rice.
My daughter had Mutter Paneer. That’s her favourite.
Overall, great South Indian restaurants in town. There aren’t many South Indian restaurants with unique South Indian cuisine in Ohio, and undoubtedly this is one of the best.
