Taste of Italy Resturant & Pizzeria NYC feels like a hidden gem in Junction Blvd where you can taste Ecuadorian spices and dishes while also enjoying a well-baked Italian pizza. The atmosphere from the second you open the door feels warm and cozy, it almost feels as if you’re in your grandma’s kitchen by the vibes. The decorations surrounding the sitting area feels like a sense of home, the colors don’t feel too bright but it also doesn’t feel too dark, rather it feels just right. The Ecuadorian food here feels almost too close to home, which is the top reason as to why this is my go-to takeout place. When you’re ordering take-out you’re greeted by friendly staff and they let you know what is available to pick from that day. The food is always freshly cooked and steaming hot, they provide a salad that is freshly washed and cut before packaging it as well.
I had picked out, pernil (roast pork) dinner and the staff who is usually the one who attends the take out orders was friendly, attentive, genuine and fast when I would tell him what I would like. The food overall was great and freshly cooked when I ate it, you could see the smoke coming from the recently cooked rice. It is often a common dish or food in Ecuador, and the flavors from the restaurant food felt truly identical to how it is often prepared in Ecuador. Taste of Italy Resturant becomes a place where you can find ways to connect with your own culture or another culture while feeling comfortable with the warm atmosphere they have. You get a small taste of what Ecuador can be like, specifically their food and who wouldn’t want to try new foods? I highly recommend this place, the food is overall unforgettable.

I ordered two large pizzas two mozzarella sticks order for about $60. The pizza was so hard and rough. Some of the dough was undercooked. It was so dry and this was my first time eating pizza in six months. I recommend everyone to not order from here.

This place has the best pizza in town. Always freshly made and they deliver it hot! I wish I had pictures of the hot food, it’s amazing! Me and my co workers come here for lunch.

I ordered 2 pizzas for delivery, however when they arrived, it flattened to the point where all the cheese was just stuck to the box. Called the restaurant to explain what happened, and we ask for a refund thru the delivery service. Instead of apologizing or trying to making it right, they got upset we got a refund and asked of the pizzas back, which we obliged and left the 2 pies outside for them to pick up. And they really did come back to pick them up, not sure what they did with them which is sort of concerning for future deliveries and food safety. Won’t be ordering from here again.

Terrible service. I went with my partner and they treated me as if they were doing me a favor. They refused to give me a receipt, charged me the wrong amount, and kicked me out of my table for asking for my receipt. Everything was delicious, but the service was not good.

I ordered Margarita Pizza using Seamless. The Pizza is too greasy and almost no Tomato paste. The bottom is totally burned, I end up throwing it in the garbage.

I ordered a Margherita pizza and it was completely inedible. It was so salty I genuinely questioned whether they accidentally spilled an entire salt shaker on it. You couldn’t taste the tomato or the cheese. Nothing but salt. It felt like they didn’t even care about what they were serving. For the price, you’d expect at least a decent pizza, but this was borderline offensive. I spent more time chugging water than actually eating. Honestly, worst Margherita pizza I’ve ever had. DO NOT waste your money here unless you’re craving a mouthful of salt and regret.
