A Casual and Great Tasting Pizza and Italian Restaurant. The legacy of Taste of Italy began over 30 years ago when Gino Schiano-Moriello started learning culinary skills from his family in Napoli, Italy. Much of his expertise had come from his father Giorgio who had spent many years in Brooklyn restaurants as well as working as a chef for an Italian cruise line. At the age of sixteen Gino moved to America to bring his families recipes stateside.

It was really busy, so I guess some of the food must be good. But I had a grilled chicken salad, that was dry and nasty, and a friend had chicken wings and half of them were crazy small. It was ridiculous and the 2 meals cost $40.

I ordered 8 mild Buffalo wings, small calzone. The wings were so small especially for $15 ridiculous and it was plain missing the mild Buffalo sauce. The blue cheese is gross. The calzone is a nice size but the dough was undercooked. very disappointed.

A nice little mom-and-pop place, just around the corner. The best part of the evening, for me, was the staff. Very friendly, welcoming; like watching a family run their restaurant. My baked ziti was simple and nice. There’s a small area to eat there. And they seem to have a LOT of to-go business. Looking forward to the Stromboli I brought home. I’m definitely going to give the pizza a shot!

I love this place! My mother is Italian, and from Chicago- So, we definitely know what good pizza & pasta is! The owner of this restaurant is also Italian, and his pies are like the good NY ones. So good! His pasta dishes are also fantastic! Try it!

Very good local pizza joint.
Tried the Alfredo chicken, New York style. My family said it was the best white sauce pizza they’ve had I’m a traditional Sicilian style fan. He did not disappoint. plan on posting some pictures but we eat it too fast ha ha.

My lasagna was absolutely delicious. My wife had the cheesesteak, it was great also. This was our first time here because we live about 40 minutes away. We will definitely make the trip to come back and bring the family.

Average food for an average price. I didn’t find anything special about the grilled chicken salad outside of the portion size, which I would rate as a little above average. A little under seasoned for my taste and “grilled” in this sense means on a flat-top grill not a charbroil grill. It’s grilled the same way a pancake is in other words.
You should not place your stale croutons under your warm chicken and above your wet lettuce in the same to go container. You should have them on the side. This way when I go to eat them they aren’t soggy lumps of half melted croutons.
Good for local grab and go food but nothing you should run out of your way to go and try.

Taste of Italy is one of our favorites! I’ve been going here regularly for several years. My usual choice is the Chicken Caesar Salad. They give generous portions of chicken, and the food has always been excellent. The only negative I have is the restaurant is small and gets crowded during busy times, so they might not have a table available. I highly recommend giving them a visit!
