came here for the first time today. i ordered the paneer tikka masala & it is delicious! quick, fresh & packed with flavor. kind, quick service, & the portion size leaves you with left overs so it’s a great bang for your buck (: will definitely be returning to try more!

I had butter chicken and naan from them a while ago. It was pretty good. But earlier last month I got a mango lassi. They probably poured it from a pitcher because I got it really quick. The mango lassi tasted like the mangoes were cut together with onions and garlic. And it was lukewarm lassi.

If you tried this place and didn’t like it, chances are you ordered the butter chicken when what you really want is the chicken tikka masala. My fiance and I eat here all the time and it’s getting to a point where the staff is starting to recognize us because of how often we crave it. The butter chicken is very bland and oily, probably from too much butter, but the chicken tikka masala is a lovely blend of aromatic spices and cream WITHOUT being spicy/hot. I will say the naan is kind of meh, sometimes it’s a bit dry but not every time.
I’ve been to many different Indian food restaurants all over the country and in the UK, so trust that I know what I’m talking about when I say it’s pretty good… you’re just probably ordering the wrong thing. It’s not the best Indian food I’ve EVER had, so realistically I’d give it a 4.3, but for this area it’s a 5/5. They also have great vegetarian and dairy-free options. I love the methi matter malai for vegetarian and the chicken biryani for dairy-free, they just don’t compare to the chicken tikka masala for me personally.

I wanted to like this place, I really did. My husband and I moved to this area last year from Grand Rapids and were spoiled by all of the Indian restaurants in that area. This was the only option we could find up here, and honestly, I’d rather eat Indian food from the frozen section at Meijer. I don’t like speaking negatively of restaurants, if I can help it, but this place isn’t serving anything that even resembles Indian food or even edible food. I know they could do so much better than this.

Absolutely adore Taste of India! Delicious, devine, sinfully good! I have been back several times now and haven’t had a single bad thing. So flavorful, and great portion sizes. I’m not a vegetarian, but the food here is SO good that I find myself ordering mostly vegetarian options because it just tastes so amazing.
I actually met the owner on my first visit there, and he is just such a great guy. And you can tell he takes a lot of pride in his food and business.
So happy this restaurant has found a home in Traverse City.

Disgusting! I wish I could give 0 stars. I ordered the chicken wrap and they said they don’t serve that. So I asked for the lamb wrap and was given garbage. The lamb was burnt and hard. It was like chewing on rocks. They also put sweet chili on the wrap, which doesn’t go on it! I’m sure they didn’t know what they were doing at all or what they even serve. I always went with my boyfriend since they are combined with food Arabia but no longer, food has really gone down. Garbage.

Food is decent (used to be better) service is usually great. However this place has got to be the most OVERPRICED Indian food in the nation

It’s not taste of India it’s taste less of India.
Not recommended
Tried the food
Chicken tikka
Chicken curry
Butter chicken
All has same boneless small pieces of chicken with lot of curry and only few pieces in it.
Taste is also bad.
I request to avoid this place.
Employee told me only chicken halal but not meat.
No halal certification.

Fantastic Indian experience! The food is great, I got the Tikka Masala and Samosa and both were very good. I was told that the Tikka Masala is “mild” but it was not spicy at all. The green sauce that comes with the samosa is optional, but I’d recommend getting it because it’s amazing. The waiter was AWESOME and I was even able to practice a few Hindi words I knew. I highly recommend this place!

Taste of India in Traverse City was just perfect after a long, tiring day in the water. The food was flavorful, fresh, and truly satisfying. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming us with warm smiles. A must-visit spot for delicious food and wonderful hospitality!
