This Indian place is wonderful. I almost always get chana masala and it is always so well spiced and delicious. The owners are very kind and welcoming.
I have been to many Indian restaurants all over the US and this is surprisingly one of the best and I don’t say that lightly because I am from Chicago and have eaten in little India for years. I included a picture of my last take out.

Went here for dinner when we visited Staunton. Husband got the karahi lamb and I wanted to try something new so I got the mango lamb. We both chose “hot” (there are 5 levels from mild to very hot, hot is the 4th). We also got two servings of garlic naan.
The karahi lamb was lovely, perfect for the garlic naan. I didn’t quite like my mango lamb. It was too sweet for my liking and it didn’t really have sauce so it wasn’t a good naan pairing (unlike the karahi lamb which was very nice with naan).

Really delicious Indian, some of the best I’ve had in a while. The butter chicken was extremely rich and flavorful, same with the chicken korma. Also the price for the portions is very good. I will say, the ‘medium’ was very mild, I would’ve like some more spice. Oh, and they had fennel, which my partner loved!

Can’t say enough good things! I stopped in for a quick, healthy lunch while here on business and the place was clean and neat. Prompt, friendly service…polite and helpful. I ordered vegetable tandoori and it was sizzling hot… the portion was really for two, but the price was very affordable (especially for the amount)! Furthermore, the food was fresh and delicious…very tasty, and I asked for a #4 (out of 5) spice level, and it was right on: could certainly feel the heat without overpowering. I can’t wait to come back here on future trips! Thank you!

The food and service were really good. I ordered the shrimp biryani and a side of garlic naan. I was also served a side of samosa, which appeared to be complimentary. I really enjoyed the biryani. The medium spice level was just right for me. There was enough for 2 full meals. Some may have been able to get 3 meals or of what I was served. It was just as good reheated the day after.

We went to stay in Staunton after Luray Cavern visit and found this good place very near to our hotel. We ordered daal, paneer masala and chicken makhni with tandoori breads. The food is really tasty the service is top notch and the atmosphere is very well decorated. It’s quite spacious restaurant as it’s housed in an old factory building. Finding parking can be a little challenging in busy hours.

November 15, 2024 – In the mood for fine Indian cuisine, with a “ with spicy heat” that your taste buds can handle . . . Delicious !
“A Taste of India” doesn’t seem to be a trademark brand . . . I counted 67 restaurants across the U.S. with this name. Almost every state has at least one such restaurant, with the exception of ND, MD, and HI .
My wife and I enjoyed our Anniversary dinner in Staunton, VA ‘s “ A Taste of India”!
We arrived at opening 5 pm , not crowded yet. Our server, Rom guided us through the menu selections. We started with a combo basket with 4 or 5 types of NAAN bread! Then a red wine blend for $7 a glass. . . medium bodied and very tasty .
As the wine & bread arrived, we ordered our entrees. My wife selected Salmon Tikki Masala, medium heat level. I order a Chef special Tandoori Mixed Grill , with chicken Tikki, Shrimp, Borti Kebab, Lamb , and Chicken Tandoori kebab, at medium heat level. ( I asked to swap out the fish for lamb, Rom our server approved) About 12 minutes later, our sizzling platters arrived at our table! The heat level “tingled our tastebuds”, perfect with the Naan , and red wine. . . Wonderful Anniversary meal
Kudos to the chef, they pledge “fresh ingredients & spices, cooked to perfection”!
Thank you ! Off to Waynesboro Theater for an Everly Brothers Set of music !

I ordered take out here on a Thursday evening, my first night in Staunton. My wife wasn’t feeling well so I walked over from our hotel. The menu was very extensive. I had to wait a few minutes to place my order. It took about 20-25 minutes uses to prepare my mixed grilled Tandoori. Pricing was reasonable for the amount of food I received. When I got back to my room, I was pleasantly surprised by well cooked and tasty my meal was! I was also surprised by the large quantity of food I received! My meal was so good, that my wife and I went back on Friday night and ordered more! My meal was just as good the second night!

I am writing this review, because we had some special experience in this restaurant. We were traveling from one city to another and we were super tired end of the day and I was not keeping well. We wanted to have simple Indian food, and being aware of Taste of India’s standard, we walked in here. It was almost the closing time for the restaurant. They were doing EOD chores. But despite of that, they served us with the warmth. The taste of food was so good and fresh. They didn’t hurry us even once. I definitely felt better after having good dal rice and Raita :). Sometime small gestures matter the most. Thanks team!
