I introduced my partner to Indian food a few years ago now and she loves it as much as yours truly.
Luckily I grew up eating Indian food, and like to call myself a bit of a curry nerd (well not the nerd bit, but you catch my drift).
I’ve probably had most Indian foods available, and although I’ve never been a fan of Lamb, or even fish in curries, I do really really like most of the rest of the foods they offer.
This place is probably one of the best or thee best Indian restaurant I have been to in the last few years. The staff are very polite, helpful, attentive and well just great.
The food is excellent. Cooked to perfection and I cannot fault it one bit.
I do not know if they serve alcoholic drinks here like some Indian restaurants do as I’ve only been here during the daytime unfortunately, and tend not to drink in the day, or I’ll be completely plastered by early evening. (Indian beer is pretty good too, not like the American or some European beers out there that take like a drink that’s come from the genitals), I like the stuff, Cobra and Kingfisher being rather tasty.
Anyway, the food, all of it I have had here is an easy 5 out of 5.
The poppadoms, – These are compulsory before any Indian meal, you have to order these first, usually to share (although I don’t like sharing my food, unless it’s poisonous), but here you’re safe, it’s really good.
Yes poppadoms are compulsory, if you haven’t had them before, try them. They’re great.
The bread, now this is down to taste, (like everything really), some people like garlic, (makes some peoples breath even better, plus it scares away vampires too),
Ignore me now, I’m going on with myself. I’ll get straight to the point.
The garlic nan bread is good, the Peshwari nan bread in my opinion is the best, it’s sweet, and just well good. Your tastes may differ though, but this one is a must.
I always use it to mop up the curry during the meal then save a bit to mop up the plate at the end, because as much as I’d like too, I don’t think liking the plates clean in a restaurant would go down very well with my street cred.
The rice, not too dry, not too wet. Just spot on. Can’t go wrong with the way they cook this.
The drinks, I’ve only had soft drinks here (soda and the like) so can’t comment really, except they are served ice cold which is good.
Service – perfect.
Cleanliness – perfect
Parking – right outside the door, can’t complain.
Food, – read the above – it’s an easy 5 out of 5.
Note, this is a family business and they do not treat you like ‘just another customer’ waiting to be fed, like people coming along on a cattle truck, (like some of the chain restaurants do). At this restaurant they treat you very well and I cannot recommend them enough.
If you like Indian food, then visit.
If you have never tried Indian food then try it.
If you don’t like Indian food, then well nobody’s perfect.
