There is something that you should know if you do decide to check this place out. If you look Asian, you’ll get the more expensive Chinese menu. If you don’t look Asian, you’ll get the cheaper “American” menu. And yes, they do call it the “American” menu.
The service was nothing to write home about. We walked in, were seated and the server left for a few minutes. As we perused what I thought to be an overpriced menu, the waitress came back to take our order. We asked if they had a lunch menu and the waitress asked , “the American menu? ” She promptly left and came back with a smaller menu that had decent prices. Of course, the menu items are completely different. She then left again and didn’t come back until we called for her in a very loud voice minutes later.
As for the food, there was nothing that stood out. Despite having ordered from both menus, nothing made an impression. All the flavors were forgettable. You’d be better off fulfilling your Chinese food craving elsewhere.
If you think that’s bad enough, you are wrong. The food quality is why I dropped 1 star.
We ordered 3 dishes randomly, guess what, they all tasted awful. That was an achievement by itself. The Liang Fen tasted like it was made 2 weeks ago. The fish soup feels like it was made of flour not real fish. Finally, the beef portion is so small. They made the bowl wide but so shallow so that it looks there is a lot of meat there but there is not.
Our server was not so nice but I can understand. If you were her being the only person serving 7 tables at the same time, what kind of mood would you have? Poor lady…
The owner should feel shameful about it. Do me a favor, avoid this place if you can.
new stuff, new chef, new owner and new recipes, definite a must-go for authentic chinese food. highly recommended!
