We started with the Fuqi Feipian, which was on the salty side but otherwise pretty standard. The Seafood Shark Fin Soup was surprisingly bland, as if no salt had been added. We had to add red vinegar just to bring out some flavor, and it could have used more white pepper and seasoning overall.
Next was the stir-fried squid with vegetables (I forgot the exact name). It included scallions, taro strips, and red peppers, but the taste was fairly average. The sweet and sour pork (Lychee Pork) was close to the Fujian-style flavor I’m familiar with, though the sauce was a bit light and not as tangy or sweet as expected.
We also ordered the seafood fried rice noodles, which were very mild in flavor and lacked wok hei. It felt under-seasoned, almost like the seasoning was forgotten again.
One standout dish was the red fermented rice pork intestines with snow peas, a classic Fujian specialty. The red fermented rice flavor really came through, and this dish was definitely worth supporting.
The crispy roast duck was another highlight—crispy skin, juicy meat, and served with steamed pancakes, shredded cucumber, scallions, and sweet bean sauce. Very satisfying in every bite.
The restaurant also offered complimentary orange slices at the end, which was a nice touch. Portions were generous, prices were reasonable, and overall it was a fairly filling meal. If you enjoy Fujian-style cuisine, it’s worth giving this place a try.
Ordered food from here because it tastes alright but just very expensive. First they messed up my order, making the sea cucumber tofu pot instead of seafood tofu pot (which is much more expensive), but we let it slide so I took it home anyways.
Then during dinner when eating that dish, we gave some veggies to kids and there was a metal stick in the broccoli. A METAL STICK.
So we called back, told them what happened, and the first thing they said was it is normal. Then proceeded to be ignorant and when we addressed our concern and request for a solution they said there is no solution deal with it. We said that we will report to the health office and they responded with “OKAY GO AHEAD, GO REPORT US”.
Awful. If you care about your health, your family’s health, and the health of your kids, do NOT go here.
First time dining in and we are not impressed with the service and attitude. I am Chinese we go eat out to celebrate the Chinese New Year. I found this restaurant on the search so decided to give it a try.
When arrived there, a couple of tables just left so they tried to clean the tables, it small restaurant. We wait by the door until one girl sits us down at the table right by the door. We got the menu, looked through it, and waited for someone to come so we could order drinks and food. We had been waiting for a while they seemed busy cleaning the other table about 20 minutes later, we still waiting, and the other two parties came in. They didn’t make reservations like us. They have a menu and plates. Then 5 minutes later, the server lady go take their orders.
Meanwhile, we still have not be able to order anything they totally ignored us. I have to call the guy that cleaning the table near by and let him know we been here for 30 minutes already and she has not come to get our order and just take other people first.
So he call her….but this what she said “oh are you ready to order?” I told her yes and we been waiting and no one come to take orders. She said “oh I don’t know, I go whomever call me first”
I said ” lhow you not know you saw us sit here before they come, you guys the one sit us on this table”
Then she take our orders….I thought if the food was good I would let it go.
The food is good, everything we ordered is good….. But ….when the first dish comes which is the Peking duck. And this is what she said ” Here someone ordered it but I give you first okay” and repeated it two times with attitude.
I have been I don’t need that attitude and that is not how it is supposed to be if they learn how to manage the restaurant and take care of the customers by ordering who seats first, these issues will not happen from the beginning.
If it is in different situations that other parties come later but are ready to order, that I understand.
But in this situation, we have been waiting to order before they came and NO ONE came to take orders.
It was really disappointing because we planned everything in advance to avoid exactly this kind of situation. I hope the restaurant can improve how they handle reservations and pre-orders.
