We had dinner at Taste of China for the first time, and it was a wonderful experience. We tried seven different dishes, and each was excellent – Beijing roasted duck, Hot and Sour soup, Grandma’s red braised pork belly, Spicy braised pork trotters, Steamed pork soup dumplings, Harbour-style garlic prawns, and Scallion oil noodles. All the dishes were flavorful with a variety of tastes. The Beijing roasted duck skin was crispy and cooked to perfection. All the meat dishes were tender and juicy. The restaurant has a charming decor, and our servers were very attentive and helpful in choosing dishes and providing great service. Top-notch service here. We will definitely return to try more dishes.

The service was very poor right from the start, and when exactly the 2 lobsters deal had ended was very confusing.
I made reservation before hand for 6:30 pm, and I had to drop off my elderly parents at the restaurant in order to find parking. Then I found them sitting at a complete empty table, they weren’t given any menu, utensils, or napkins, and no one even asked them if they wanted water.
Luckily, Avy (chian iy – not sure of the spelling) came to the rescue. She was patient, nice, kind, and helpful. Avy was 180 degrees from the original waitress who was cold, neglectful, rude, and not communicative. Ask for Avy if you want 5-star service here.
The food was good. However, you really don’t get much meat with the 梅菜扣肉. For the kind of price that this place charges, I believe that we deserve thicker and more slices of 扣肉…. 麻婆豆腐was too numbing for us. However, Avy patiently informed us that we could tell the kitchen to adjust the numbing, salt, and spicy levels in the future – good to know! It took them forever to make the fish broth with Chinese pickles…

Our new favorite spot for our family dinner. The food and service here is great. I think this is more on an elevated chinese cuisine and the price is very reasonable. The restaurant decor and table setting is very elegant and our family enjoying dining here. Definitely a must try if you haven’t.

we visited this place at lunch time, service was great, we ordered lambs and kong pao chicken, chicken was good, lamp was not very fresh, told the waiter, let us change a dish. surprisingly the home style tofu was very good!

I flew all the way from Las Vegas to Houston just to enjoy authentic Shanghai and Zhejiang cuisine at Taste of China 湘浙汇. Their dishes never fail to impress—signature roast duck and specialty plates were once again outstanding. The cozy atmosphere and attentive service made it another truly enjoyable dining experience. be prepared, this place is pricey, but the decoration is very nice and clean, so I can see why it’s expensive. the dishes were tasty, just a heads-up: the salty duck (咸水鸭) is pre-cut and kept in the fridge, so it’s served cold, not hot. also, the waitress who served us had a serious poker face without any smile that made us feel really unwelcome and uncomfortable. other than that, everything was good.
