What a gem! We made a quick trip to Wetumpka and had a wonderful light dinner at Taste of the Fain. We were first struck by the interior: a 1920 movie theater transformed to a casual/chic restaurant. We were quickly seated by the friendly hostess. Savannah, our waitperson, answered all our questions about the menu and made terrific recommendations, including wine. We got the steak sliders with gruyere cheese, picked onions and arugula. Wow! Perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful. We also had crab cakes— delicious. Our bottle of Sauvignon Blanc (half off on the special of the day) was so good we bought two bottles to take home. Savannah was attentive, warm, and genuine. What a cozy, delicious and delightful experience!!

My husband and I were pretty disappointed with our food. We ordered a charcuterie board, but they were out. So we ordered a mushroom appetizer and some shrimp scampi. The man that brought us our appetizers dropped the bread for the scampi, and didn’t get us more. I ordered the short rib Alfredo, and all my pieces of meat were burnt, as if they gave me the burnt end leftovers from the day. My husband ordered the special, which was steak, mashed potatoes, and carrots. The steak was far over cooked, and the potatoes were undercooked and barely mashed, just a bunch of pieces of hard potato. Our actual server was absolutely amazing, so we appreciate that.

Wife and I came into town for the weekend as a little getaway. The service here was wonderful. Faith went out of her way to ensure we have a great experience, It was more than just someone checking in, it was like chatting with a friend you hadn’t seen in ages. The food was delicious, they managed to bring both the refinement of high end food with the comfort of a home cooked meal that mom made with love. The atmosphere is wonderful. Nice and moody without being too dark, quiet and private while not being secluded. Anytime we are in the area this will be out go to dinner place. 10/10 pork chops, crab cakes, and the Chocolate ricotta cake was exceptional.

Y’ALL!!!!!! Get. In. What an amazing place! We walked in the door and we were greeted by an brilliant staff. You could tell they were so happy to be there! Attitude is everything! We grabbed a table on the second floor and our server was fantastic! ( #SavannahRules ) We started out with a couple of cocktails. Highly recommend both the Bless Your Heart and the Paloma Spritz. We had mushrooms for our appetizer. They were melt in your mouth delicious! We shared a wedge salad – the house made dressing was fantastic! And then came our 4 oz fillets. There are no words to describe how divine our meal was!! Perfectly cooked meat on a bed of heavenly mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. And the sauce options, unbelievable! Pro Tip: choose a wine flight to go with your dinner! We did the Red Dawn and the Goodfellas! Already planning a return trip!

What a pretty restaurant! We had been shopping in Wetumpka and wanted a drink before going home. They let us in even though they were technically closed. We sat at the bar. They have an extensive wine list and most of the bottles are also sold by the glass. They have wine flights and a nice beer list. I had a beer and my husband had a wine flight. The bartender was really attentive and knowledgeable. We perused the menu and definitely want to visit again for dinner if we are ever in the area. A great menu.

The food and the service were wonderful. The experience was also great. But bar is filled with smoke and the sign out front says $7 bloody Mary and they charge you $12. Also the charcuterie board is $25 but provides a very small amount of food. Otherwise the experience was very nice and tasty. The bloody Marys were in fact very tasty.

Taste at The Fain helped my friend and me host a bridal shower party for 25 today in the upstairs area. We had mimosas, charcuterie, and cheesecake bites. The food was delicious. Even better, though, was the service. David was dedicated to our party the entire 2 hours, and he made it his mission to ensure we enjoyed ourselves. The Fain is wonderful for dinner. Also consider it for your special group events! You will not be disappointed!

This was my second experience at the Fain. The first was wonderful, with an excellent salmon entree. Thursday was a completely different story. The watermelon salad was missing three ingredients, the nuts, the cheese, and the bacon. Our waitress tried to fix the situation, and brought out three small containers with the three missing ingredients. They substituted the feta with Parmesan cheese and the bacon was raw. Thankfully, they did not charge me for the salad. The steaks sliders were missing the cheese. Our server brought me some slices, but that’s not the same as being melted on the sliders. I’m not sure what was happening in the kitchen, but they must have had an amateur or a substitute chef who did not know the menu well. With the price of their meals, I would expect much better. The restaurant was not busy, it was only 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon. It was loud at times, but that was the staff, not other patrons. I doubt I will be back.

I don’t leave many reviews but I had to in this case. We came here when we were in town about 18 months ago. We had an unbelievable experience. The food and service were excellent. So when we came back into town with my mother in law. We were excited to take her here. We made reservations and showed up 5 mins before. We stood in the hostess area and made eye contact with 4 people behind the bar. They ignored us for 10 mins till one of them came by holding wine glasses in their hand. She said “I am sorry I don’t see you, I will be right with you”. I knew this was not true but said ok. She came back and sat us at table. It was not clean. I used my napkin and cleaned it. Our waitress gave us several paper menus. Mine looked like it had been through it. It was stained and torn. They only had 7 or 8 actual dinner entrees. I asked about why they had no steak or sides mentioned. She said it was a seasonal menu. We asked for a couple different drinks and she informed us they were out and didn’t have them because of the holidays and they not be able to be delivered. It the middle of January, to me it seemed odd. They didn’t offer any bread or a starter. My mother in law ordered the crab cakes and I asked what sides came with that. She did not know and had to ask. They said the could include some home fries and she agreed. We got the pork chops (which were delicious, but small). When our food finally came out , it took our waitress several minutes to pull it off the pass. She was hanging out in the bar area and wasn’t paying attention. Our food finally arrived it was lukewarm. My mother in laws crab cakes were about 2 1/2 inches around. It looked like a starter for one person. I commented and asked was this the main dish. She said yes. We all couldn’t believe these 2 small crab cakes were 20.00. They forgot her home fries. She then said sorry and went to get them. We finished our meals by the time they finally came out. They were cold and had clearly been pre cooked. Heavy in grease and were not appetizing looking at all. She went back to the bar and it took 20 mins to get her attention again. I finally got her attention. We had not been able to get a drink refill the whole time. We asked for a dessert menu. We were informed that they didn’t have some of the desserts. My wife and mother in law ordered the bread pudding to go and I asked for our bill. She gave me the electronic device to pay. I paid and went to use the restroom before we left. It was very dirty. I always consider the way the restrooms are kept up as a measure of the rest of the cleanliness of the establishment. I got back and observed our food sitting on the pass. She was again in a conversation in the bar area. It took her another 20 mins to see that the food was on the pass. She then asked another waitress to grab it for her. We finally got our food and left. No one said have a good night or see you soon. This is clearly not the way to run a restaurant. I don’t think they will be in business for another year they way it is currently being run. It’s a same because it was so good and the overall restaurant could be fantastic. We will never be back.
