Tartufo Restaurant is an award-winning Italian restaurant and full service bar featuring authentic, unique, Abruzzese and Mediterranean cuisine. We have been serving our guests in Newton Centre, Massachusetts since 2004. Our menu is comprised of made to order Italian cuisine, with all natural ingredients in a pleasant and inviting atmosphere. We welcome you to come, sit back, relax, and enjoy our delicious Italian food, as well as our wide selection of premium wines. Tartufo was founded by Owner/Manager Anna Mountzuris. Anna explains, “the concept for the restaurant entails an enticing assortment of organic meats, fish, vegetables, freshly baked bread and desserts, all prepared in the Abruzzese and Mediterranean tradition”.
Southern Italian cuisine with thoughtfully sourced ingredients draws crowds to this basic bistro.

I had such an incredible experience here! The ambience was absolutely beautiful — warm, inviting, and the perfect atmosphere for a special night out. The food was outstanding, every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. The drinks were just as impressive — crafted perfectly and delicious.

Unbelievable is the best word to describe the service my family received at dinner tonight. This was our third visit to Tartufo, but our first time being served by Hope—and she was the difference-maker. Her ability to create a genuine, authentic atmosphere transformed what would have been a typical night out. Into an unforgettable core memory for my family and me. It was reminiscent of that vacation feeling—the kind you don’t get in everyday life.
Beyond her natural ability to connect with people, Hope demonstrated a deep understanding of the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations tailored to individual preferences. Her attentiveness in pacing each course should not go unrecognized—an often-overlooked detail. Having worked in a kitchen myself, I understand the chaos that unfolds behind the scenes. What may seem like a small component to an excellent dining experience in fact speaks volumes. Signaling a well-oiled back-of-house operation that coordinates seamlessly with the servers and runners.
To top it all off, the food was outstanding—the quality you’d expect from the North End, without the headache of finding parking. As a foodie, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates first-class service, exceptional food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Special thanks to Hope!

Came here on Valentines day. Limited menu. 20 dollar drinks. Thought the food was good, however we thought the waiter was a dud. No personality whatsoever. Was he a bot??! After the friendly girl we had the night before at a different spot this was noticable.

Everything was super tasty, especially my Papardelle al Tartufo- even the crusty bread and butter were delicious and we kept asking for more!
The manager from the previous night who took my reservation made sure to let our server know to really take care of us, and Justin did exactly that: he was friendly, helpful and very attentive, and we felt really well looked after the whole time.
Best part? What really touched us was that my sister’s whole order, from her welcome drink to her main and dessert, was ON THE HOUSE for her special day.
