Angel, Jaykaida (sorry I know I spelled it wrong), Jim, and Steve were all amazing servers who made us feel welcome. We’ve never been here before but will surely return! What a great staff, and whomever was in the kitchen did a great job making our meals! Thanks to all of you, a very dedicated staff, for making our first vacation so incredibly fun, and enjoyable! Bravo!

We had a very nice dinner here while watching boats, pelicans, and airplanes. Service was top notch. Be advised that specials end at 5:00 p.m.
Menu items are a little pricey, but there’s a price for being near a hotel and for having a waterfront location.

I definitely do not recommend the mahi tacos. They tasted really fishy & just old either that or it wasn’t real mahi, because mahi doesn’t taste like that. 2 other people at the table tried a bite and we told our server and she kind of argued with us & was a little rude. She insisted that she wasn’t going to take it off and that they probably wouldn’t take it off in the kitchen because we “ate half” which we took 3 bites out of ONE taco out of 3 because I had the other people try it to make sure it wasn’t just me. The server made a comment “ well I get that you’re pregnancy. Your taste buds might be different.” After I told her we all tried it. She might’ve been having a bad night, but she made the experience not welcoming on my Mother in Laws birthday dinner who came down from Indiana.
The boom boom shrimp was good! The drinks were good! The atmosphere was nice!

As a business owner, I always appreciate supporting local spots, and this bar has a lot going for it. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was fun and lively, right on the riverfront—definitely the kind of place people want to return to.
That said, I was extremely disappointed by the lack of transparency with cocktail pricing. Despite asking several times, our server would not give us direct prices, and we were shocked to discover Long Islands were $21 each—served in small plastic cups, no more than 10oz. Our tab for those alone came to $217.35, which felt unreasonable and left us with a very negative impression.
It’s frustrating to see a place create such a great vibe, only to damage the customer experience by price gouging on drinks. Transparency with pricing is key to building trust and repeat business, and unfortunately, that was missing here.

We ate here Monday evening and it was really good. It was busy and the atmosphere was great with the Bingo. We only had small plates -half rack of ribs, small salad and fries, as we’d only just arrived. Decided to eat here again Tuesday evening and it was the worst meal we’d had since arriving in Florida from the UK. It wasn’t busy yet we waited nearly an hour for our food. We asked our server and he did apologise but we had to ask another server where our meal was. When it eventually arrived my green beans were not cooked at all – I love them not soft and not overcooked but these were raw. I mentioned this to the server but he didn’t even offer to replace or anything. My grouper was overcooked and the sweet potatoes were nothing like sweet potatoes! My partner had the cob salad which wasn’t too bad but far too much dressing. We had drinks as well, more than we normally would have but because we waited so long for the food – The bill was $110. Definitely not worth it.

Food was great (grouper bites, poke bowl, cobb salad) and our server was super sweet. A bit slow in some areas (like picking up check so we could pay and go)but it was busy and she didn’t have much help.
The only downside, planes flying over, directly over, were very loud. Had to pause conversation, cover ears, then continue after fly over. But hey, the price you pay for being outside by the water on the last warm day in January! (Cold front moved in that evening!)

Awesome “Tiki” vibe. I used to live in the Bahamas as well as the tropical island of Roatan. Tarpon does a great job of capturing the real vibe of an island bar & grill, with live music and beautiful views of a marina, sunsets, and the occasional incoming airplane! Drink selection is great. Food selection is good, but don’t expect better than “bar food” level. Come for the vibe. For the drinks. Have a cigar! Relax. Enjoy. Food plus a couple of drinks, tax, and tip, is about $50/person out the door. Honestly for what you get in exchange it’s well worth it. Waiters are also all having good fun attitudes. I would come back.

I have family in Bradenton. We have been coming to this location throughout the past 20 years. It is very casual, but for us a great spot to head when hungry after landing in Sarasota or the night before we leave. Sunset is best. We’ve taken many friends and family here. Go check them out.

The location itself is problematic. it’s hidden behind the Ramada, which makes it somewhat confusing. After arriving, and figuring it out, the initial service was slow, despite the restaurant not being busy (5 tables sat and 2 servers – 2pm Friday).. next thing I noticed was the online menu does not match what they offer in the restaurant… Next, most of the fish prices are MP, which is normal for certain things, but not everything at other local places.. the food was decent.. location is decent… service was, meh… we live locally year round.. would I come back? probably not…..

Ever since the new owners took over the prices are raised. They had great staff before there as well. That’s what kept me coming back as well as my friends and family. Now its not so good any more. If you have to wait 15 minutes for a beer or to be waited on then I’ll find a better place. Terri I definitely miss you and the respectful staff you had. I feel sorry for the new owners.
