First of all not sure if the cuisine was supposed to be like this or it was my tastebud, but I did not like it that much. The meat could use some good seasoning. Also I felt like the price was a little high.
For the noodles, it was average, nothing too extra ordinary.
Must-try: Lamp soup 羊肉汤, Uyghur Pilof 抓饭, lamb kebab 羊肉串
Recommendation: Roast Whole Lamb 烤全羊, Samsa 烤包子
Food: I always wanted try roast whole lamb but it is too expensive to afford a whole lamb. Luckily, this restaurant provides roast whole lamb during weekends and customers can order by parts. We ordered lamb rack. It is great! The owner recommended us to come around 2 next time as the lamb tastes even better when it comes fresh~ They provide sauces but it is not necessary for dipping. Lamp soup is high recommendes as a accompany dish of roast whole lamb. It cuts the grease of the roast whole lamb. Another recommendation is the juicy lamb kebab. My boyfriend like the Samsa. For me it is a bit dry. Our favorite is Uyghur Pilof. I guess they use suet to cook the rice that is why the rice is so delicious.
Parking: there is a small parking lot at the back of the restaurant with limited space. We did street parking 2-3 blocks away. Not too hard to find a spot during a busy weekend afternoon.
I also love the Bean Jelly Salad. It goes so well with the kebab, the sauce is just amazing!
The kebabs were just fantastic. Fresh, flavorful, not gamey at all. Most importantly the owner was very enthusiastic despite a spontaneous party of 9.
The service is rough, however it’s understandable considering the restaurant has only been open for 3 days. Highly recommend the food and will definitely be coming back!
I wish the restaurant much success and hope thing’s get better.
The samosas have a strong, savory lamb and onion taste. Best samosas ever and I’ve been around the block. I bought three but ended up eating two in the car because they were so good. I lied and told everyone else I only bought one samosa. And then I ate half of the last one as I split it with everyone else.
The big chicken plate was tender and had tons of spices.
And this lamb dish I got that I forgot the name of was extremely flavorful and had the chewiness I liked. It has these nan pieces at the bottom (which aren’t like normal Indian Pakistani nan, more like flatbread?”).
I also had the lamb kebabs which are more like traditional Chinese BBQ skewers but they were very good and meaty.
Food was 10/10 easily.
The restaurant was also very clean. It looked very new and the furniture and floors were polished.
The only other Uyghur restaurants I found were in Manhattan and the flushing new world mall, both of which are good but not as good as this place.
