Make sure that you check your to go order tacos. I left with 2 instead of the 5 that came in the order and I took a picture for them to see. They made me go back and I expected the full order and they wanted to give me only the 3 that were missing. They literally told me, we will give you the other 2 but you have to pay for them. Why do I have to pay for your mistake?? I was literally already miles away at home and you made me return for your mistake. They ended up giving me the 5 but it didn’t come out of them it was literally under duress. Very, very poor customer service. I understand mistakes but when you try to be cheap and not realize your mistakes, I have a problem with that. I surely won’t be coming back. There’s so many other better taco places in the area.

One of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been at. The mini tacos are about $10 and get 5 of them and are filled with meat. The flan is also very nice and the salsa is spicy and flavorful. Don’t go at the very end of the day because some of the meats get sold out

Our son took us out to Taquitos & Panaderia West Ave, and it was great. We had a group of 9 and arrived at 6 pm and had no problems sitting as a group. The staff is friendly and answered our questions. When you walk in, walk straight to the counter and order. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. Our waitress hooked us up with drinks. It’s easy to over eat here. The stay open late!! Will definitely return.
The Panaderia had soft pan dulce we took our to go,

Extremely Disappointed – Hidden Prices and Overpriced Food

We visited Taquitos & Panaderia West Avenue in San Antonio for the first time as a family of four (kids are 8 and 9) after it was recommended to us for their tripas and lengua tacos. We were genuinely excited to try something new.

Right away, we noticed something concerning: menu items were listed, but there were no prices anywhere. That is a huge red flag. Not displaying prices upfront is not good business practice. Customers deserve transparency before ordering — especially when dining with family and budgeting accordingly.

We arrived about 30 minutes after they opened on a Saturday and were the only table in the restaurant the entire time we ate. Only three people walked in as we were leaving. That alone made us question things.

We ordered two tortas, several mini tacos, a couple of quesadillas, and three drinks. Based on similar places we’ve visited that actual serve sides and extras, we expected the total to be around $50. Instead, the bill came out to nearly $80 WITHOUT any sides or extras. We were in complete shock. They did not even have normal toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, mayo, queso fresco, etc. that people enjoy on tortas and even tacos. They did not have any chips or tostadas. This place is a huge BUST!

The service itself was polite, but without posted prices, there’s no way to verify what we were being charged. That lack of transparency makes customers feel uncomfortable and taken advantage of. Honestly, I had no idea the reason there is a need for a server, we came up to the counter, ordered our own food, took the plates, brought it to our table, grabbed our own silverware and napkins. The only thing our server did, was bring the brinks that we pointed it to in the cooler, took away plates and rang up mysterious prices on the register.

As far as the food — it was average at best. The tacos were nothing special. There were no typical sides like pickled carrots, jalapeños, rice, or beans/refried beans — they didn’t even have the basics. I have never seen a cucumber served with tacos before – WEIRD! The tortillas and bread tasted less than fresh, slightly stale even. For the prices they are charging, you would expect freshly hand-made tortillas and bread baked daily. I mean, they have Panadería next door- HELLO?!?!?

We drove about 50 minutes to try this place, and unfortunately, it was NOT worth the trip. We left feeling misled, disappointed, overcharged and, honestly, duped. This is not how you run the business. We will absolutely NOT be returning and now will be telling as many people as we can not to come here either! Do better!!!!

Love this place! I’ve visited several times but my last visit was to bring some friends from out of town to have some great tacos. As always, the line moved quickly, and within minutes, we were placing our orders sitting down with our food. The staff are very friendly and courteous. The tacos are simple with fresh toppings (onion and cilantro). The meats are flavorful and tender. I’ve never had a bad visit, nor heard of anyone who has. The agua frescas are delicious, not too sweet. For a place that can be a little busy sometimes, it’s always been clean during my visits. I’m always looking forward to my next visit! Sorry about no pics…I was hungry so those tacos didn’t stand a chance Lol

Stopped by in passing and was pleasantly impressed at the cleanliness and simplicity of their menu. I arrived just after the lunch rush and was greeted by friendly waitstaff. The service was quick and the staff was very helpful. My meal of beef street tacos hit the spot and was made fresh right in front of my eyes with a can of Coke the cost was just over $10. The value for the quality was well worth it! Salsa was spot on and just the right amount of heat for me. Highly recommend for authentic, fresh, made just for you tacos, tortas, and quesadillas!

Prices were nowhere to be seen. We asked for water, we got bottled, not tap. I asked for a receipt, I got the credit card receipt with the total, not itemized. The quesedilla I got was good but had a bit too much oil. Washrooms were clean. 5 tacos de pastor and 2 quesadillas, 3 water bottles, and a Diet Coke was $24.

Legit tacos. Back in 1998 we lived in Mexico and would sit and eat 30 of these at a time. Felt like I was back there again. Al Pastor for life! So good! Clean restrooms, friendly fast service. All walks of life enjoying tacos here. Don’t forget to visit the bakery next door!

When talking about some of the best tacos and quesadillas in town I’m not sure why this spot is not at the top of everyone’s list. They have good service and the wait time is minimal. The quesadillas have quickly become some of my favorite eats in town and it’s very affordable.

The tripas taquitos are my favorite here. Also recommend the lengua tacos. Quesadillas with al pastor meat are delicious, too. Don’t forget the flan for dessert. Here you ordered at the counter, wait for your tacos and then get a table.
