The food here actually surprised me a lot ! I’ve been living in Yonkers for about a year and have never bother to walk in but I’m glad I did! The view next to pier is amazing and refreshing especially on a summer day.
The shrimp tacos were amazing. The food is mexican/ seafood cuisine inspired. There’s good beer and drink options.I would definitely come back here to eat.

I had the chicken tacos along with chips and guacamole, and I must say, they were a complete disappointment. The chicken was bland and utterly flavorless, and the flour tortillas were far from fresh, tasting as if they had simply been microwaved. I do not recommend these tacos unless you’re truly desperate.
As for the guacamole and chips, they were the worst I’ve ever encountered. The guacamole was poorly mixed, with tomatoes just thrown in after the fact, clearly indicating it came from a pre-packaged source. The chips were obviously store-bought and lacked the freshness you’d expect from a proper taco place. I firmly advise against choosing this restaurant.
My friends who dined with me shared the same grievances about their tacos. We all unanimously decided that this is not a place we would ever return to.

Perfect spot to relax and have some legit tacos. You can’t beat the view, the prices are just right, and the ambience and staff are so friendly. Perfect for a night out with friends for cocktails and tacos or simple taco fix relaxing by yourself!

I came on a rainy day. The view was still breathtaking, since this place is right on the board walk.
Our waiter was attentive but didn’t inform us of their specific cooking menu. They don’t have a grill here so the menu is limited on the number of cooked items in their program.
The food was good but not memorable.
Otherwise there are other dining options next door to still enjoy the scenic views while dining.

Love this spot! Food was great, street corn was the best, shrimp tacos were amazing! Lamb tacos were good! Music was freaking insanely good! Jazzy vibe. Drinks were great, pretty & passionate drink was SO good. Jimmy was an amazing host and bartender. Thank you.

Great Service! Location is great, super chill right by the water. Nice view of the city in the distance and modern decor.
Drinks were pretty good. We had the frozen piña colada and watermelon mojito. The food was a hit or a miss which is why I gave it 4 stars. We tried 3 tacos and these are our favorites in order best to worst. Shrimp, Porky, Chicken. I would not order the chicken one again, it lacked flavor. The pork one was a bit too greasy for me but still okay. Shrimp was pretty good, interesting twist with the fried wonton.
We had the Nachos which was very tasty, the chips are yummy. The chips came with the meatballs as well which made the dish for me personally, the cheese on the meatballs was tasty but the whole thing was a bit greasy.
Another thing I didn’t like is the plates they use to serve and the poor quality of napkins, I went through 15 or so napkins. I know this spot is new so they’re just getting situated but I would definitely upgrade the plates and forks to real ones not plastic disposable ones, cheapens the experience. At this point they don’t need to use disposable forks and plates for the sake of covid safety like some places did months ago.
I would recommend to go with the shrimp tacos and the Nachos with beef.
The best part of TaqueRio is the overall experience with the view and friendly service, I wouldn’t say the tacos are impressive.

Nice concept in theory— tacos by the up and coming riverfront of downtown Yonkers, beautiful sunset views of the city skyline— however, I do not recommend coming here if you’re seeking better service and tastier food. The food lacked flavor— the guacamole needed help (even a little more salt would do it better), and the service was some of the worst I’ve experienced in Westchester. Upon entering the restaurant, we stood at the entrance without any acknowledgement or orientation around how the table service worked. Five minutes past before I finally spoke with the bartender inquiring if we seat ourselves, to which she replied “yeah go ahead.” Found ourselves a table and waited for about 15 minutes with no service, no acknowledgement and not even provision of water. I went back inside to try to contact a server when the server finally did acknowledge me and told me to “take menus to the table” myself and that he’d take our order momentarily… Not to mention that I witnessed this same server greet the table next to us upon their seating and bring them waters… talk about poor hospitality! Will most likely never return.

Love the location of this place; such a beautiful view of the water! My fiancé and I shared the mini albondigas and the birria short rib quesadilla as appetizers and they were both delicious. He had the American tacos and I had the sashimi salmon tacos (if you love sushi, this is the way to go)! We both loved the tacos! We had awesome drinks, as well. I recommend this place for anyone looking for good food and drinks on a nice summer day!

Amazing location! Service was great the food was amazing!! We ordered a little bit of everything, the street corn had the perfect amount of sauce and was perfectly roasted. The nachos are delicious and a nice portion. The tacos had this yummy sauce and the tortillas didn’t fall apart!! If you are in the area you must check this place out!!!
