We were pleasantly impressed with this fun concept. Everything we ordered was properly prepared and fresh. The food was tasty and appropriately portioned. The service was good and the atmosphere was youthful and fun. Loved the red pendant lights.

I haven’t been to this restaurant since they initially opened, but I was extremely disappointed in the poke bowl I ordered. The tuna was so so light in color and tasteless. Besides the Jalapeño in the bowl that was the only flavor the bowl it had. It definitely needs higher quality fish and more flavor overall! Something to elevate it!

This is a unique Asian inspired menu with a modern twist. Good fresh ingredients for a clean eating menu. Of course you can find some fried and unhealthy items, but the healthy although still very flavorful choices outweigh the fried and heavy calorie items.

First time checking this restaurant out. Was hesitant because a lot of reviews say the tacos come out cold. Started with the Avacado Eggrolls which were very good. I went with the steak quesadilla and my wife had the Shrimp Tempura Taco and Thai Chicken Taco. She said the flavor was good but unfortunately both tacos were COLD. This is unacceptable for any restaurant, but especially a place that constantly gets this review about the food. The margaritas were the best part of the meal. I had the Jalapeño Cilantro and Spicy Pima margaritas and my wife had the Elderflower Paloma and Strawberry Basil. Would come back to this place for the margaritas and we had great service but not sure about trying the food again.

Reunited with a friend over lunch. We hadn’t seen each other in years and she had never been to Taqueria Tsunami so I was overjoyed this is where we ended up.
We started with chicken empanadas. They were good and warm but the chicken was slightly dry. Our entrees were delicious; we ordered a rice bowl and salad.
We were there at lunch time so I expected more of a crowd but it was fairly slow that day so I didn’t feel bad about taking more time to catch up with my friend since there was seating available and not just in our server’s section. I like to be mindful of that if I’m spending more time than normal because I know how important turning tables can be and I don’t mind tipping generously if that’s the case.
Our server was friendly and brought our food out and refilled our drinks during the meal. Unfortunately, she never returned after she dropped off our tab.
We visited for quite some time afterwards and it would have been nice to get another drink, but our server never returned.
Honestly, I’m not one to run someone down either and by the time we left, our empty glasses and the check were waiting for the server to return. It is what it is and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and visit with each other regardless.

My family and I went to taqueria tsunami a little over a week ago. I have been contemplating on wether or not to do this review but I can’t just let it go. We eat here on a regular basis and service is always hit or miss but never great. This time around was the worst. We ordered the calamari as a starter and then order a few dishes after. Everything was ok for the most part until we found a worm on one of the fried calamari. There was no way that wasn’t a worm. I really want to say it was parasitic worm. It was long and white and I was in such shock that I couldn’t even think about taking a picture of it at the time. We did bring it up to the waitress and supposedly she went to tell her manager but manager never showed up. I thought that was funny considering usually manager approval is needed to remove a dish from a ticket but ok. All that was done was the calamari got taken of the ticket. No explanation. No apology or anything. In fact waitress never came back to the table after. I think that was a very pathetic way of dealing with this situation. We didn’t want anything comped or free but we were treated as if we brought the worm on and placed it on our meal. Needless to say we didn’t fuss we didn’t even finish eating. We payed and left. It was truly disappointing the way our visit was handled. They couldn’t even take the time to make things right with at least an apology or to get to the bottom of why the hell a worm made it in our food.

This is a place where you will actually have to wait for a table unless you’re like me. I was alone and sat at the bar! Very convenient. The bartender was very attentive and took my order quickly. The order, 3 tacos, short rib, and two pork, both Korean BBQ style came to me within 5 minutes, freshly prepared. Excellent flavor and texture. The appetizer of taters and cheese was yummy, but not hot.
The atmosphere is a little on the loud side, and like most places, has to have a tv on the wall to entertain.
I would return for more.

Tsunami Taco has excellent service and delicious food. We hosted my daughter’s post graduation (UGA, Go Dawgs!) at this location 12/13/24. We didn’t have a reservation but they made space for 8 of us and celebrated the occasion. I highly recommend it for dinner or a small celebration.

Absolutely delicious! Our server was friendly and service was quick–for late lunchtime anyway, not too many people. I got the Trio with Shrimp Tempura and Rich Man’s (steak) tacos and the chips–the sauce on the steak wasn’t my personal favorite but good taco overall, and the shrimp taco was perfectly fresh! The churros for dessert were also perfection, I would come back just for them. 10/10!
