The food was amazing, and the vibe and service were also enjoyable! We tried a mix of things- the quesabirria tacos were what drew me in- and they did not disappoint! We had a shredded chicken burrito (my son said it was the best he has had- and we tend to eat Mexican food frequently enough). My husband tried a variety of tacos- pineapple seasoned pork, lingua, and chorizo. All was delicious. We also enjoyed the churros at the end.

The service was the best part. They were very attentive without being overbearing. The owner was serving us- and she was very warm.

We plan to return.

Had late lunch in here last sunday. Some reason I craved carne asada so my husband searched on the internet and he said let’s check out this place since had a good reviews.
Really didn’t know how to pronounce the name of restaurant.. sounds a bit weird but who cares about the name and I excited when I saw their menu. The menu is pretty decents.
So meanwhile we look it on the menu they had complimentary of chips with beans and cheese over it. This way is actually brilliant idea. Love it! Most of Mexican restaurants we’ve been they served chips with salsa on the side and most of the times the salsa didn’t taste like homemade.
So we both order the same tacos and we both loved the Al pastor and not really the carne asada.
He ordered quesadillas and came to our table and he looked at it with strange doubt eyes. I told him it’s probably this place has different way how to make their quesadillas (tried to cheers/ calm him up a bit) but unfortunately he didn’t finish it because he didn’t like it.
So I got myself a bistec encebollado because other menu had nopales as one of the sides and I don’t think I can eat that and I asked the waitress if I can replace it with something else and she said no.
Honest opinion I didn’t really like my plates either… sooooo disappointed of the taste of the steak also the rice. I meant the rice is watery and I really didn’t taste like a usual Spanish rice. Is more like over cooked. The meats didn’t taste how I like it.
And also I ordered burrito to go for my son that love burrito and when he ate it at home I asked how was it and he said “it was ok”
If we coming back here again definitely we’ll order the tacos and maybe try something else other than what we got today and let’s hope will not disappoint us again.
By the way the front of the girls all were friendly.
PS: this place has a parking space. No need to worry about parking on the street.

Lilly was our server and was awesome. Very authentic cuisine, from the decor, to music, to the food. I ordered the Viva Mexico. Extremely generous portions, and first time I ever tried cactus (it was awesome). Place is BYOB but I believe they give complimentary drinks if you want 1 each on Friday’s and Saturday nights. The beer with hot sauce with awesome presentation. All in all, extremely happy we found this local, family owned business. Our new go to for authentic Mexican cuisine!

This is my favorite restaurant. Period. Everything is amazing. The staff are awesome. I’ve been a big fan since they were in their old location… and the new restaurant is so nice! Eat in, get it to-go, it doesn’t matter…. YOU ARE MISSING OUT!

I’ve been here three times and tried three different dishes and now I’m ready to pass judgment! Taqueria Tonantzin is unlike any other Mexican restaurant I’ve been to in the area. Starting off you’ll find that many things on the menu are unfamiliar or have unfamiliar names. I recommend looking at food photos you’ll find on Google and choosing something that just looks yummy. I think the highlight for me is the very tasty meats they put in the various dishes. Give it a try!

With all the good Mexican restaurants in the area, this one is awful!
The food was dry over cooked and just not appetizing.
Everything thing we ordered was disappointing.

AMAZING, AMAZING Customer service. The food here is delicious. I originally stopped in the area for Chineese Food, but had a very cold reception. I randomly walked into this restaurant and was blasted with warmth. The owner was very friendly and recommended exactly what I needed. She even discouraged me from oreldering too much food. There should be 6 starz for here
