I was really excited to try this place after seeing all the great reviews. I’m currently pregnant and had been craving a carne asada burrito, so I was looking forward to finally finding a good spot.
Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. I specifically requested no pico and no cheese, but both were still included in my burrito. There was also no rice or beans inside, which made it feel incomplete. I ordered two identical burritos, and both were prepared the same way.
On top of that, the carne asada lacked flavor. The salsa was decent, but overall the meal did not meet expectations. I hope the restaurant takes more care in following special requests and ensuring consistency.

The Ponderosa Running Springs
Arrived 730ish on a wed night. A couple occupied tables inside and no one outside. It was nice and cool inside, appreciate that. But opted for outside where ee eere solo but there is room for plenty of people. I Had al bondigas and they were fine. Tacos were salty but taste good. We would visit again. On our quest to support local business in the valley brings us to the valley plaza. We came in on a quiet Tuesday for tacos. I ordered the shrimp cocktail and a fish ceviche. Nice ketchup balance for the coctel. Horchata was canela forward and sweet but too sweet.
We followed up with taco plates. I went with the braised beef tongue and al pastor. All really good selections. We found another spot to put into the rotation for taco Tuesday.

Absolutely pleased with my food. I ordered and instantly as I took my seat my chips Salas and delicious horchata was brought to my table. With in 5 minutes I had my tacos. Flavors are amazing and the meat is perfect

The restaurant has a bright welcoming atmosphere. Staff was friendly, the waitress brought chips and salsa to our table – the salsa was good, you could tell it was homemade. I ordered a coke and my wife ordered a michilada which she said was good but the coke tasted like the way it does from a bottle! My wife had the burrito which she only ate half and the fries. The carnitas taco was delicious, a little on the dry side but the homemade green and red salsa made up for it. Be careful of the red salsa. The alpastor taco was flavorful. Will definitely be here again.

Lovely, hidden place with great food. I thought from the photos that it would be a bit dingy, but I was very pleasantly surprised with everything. Lively, colorful decorations and warm atmosphere with very friendly/attentive servers.

Had a great lunch here. Lovely staff, bright atmosphere. We had the ceviche to share, veggie fajitas, and the burrito panzon. We ate every last bite! The starter salsa was delicious but definitely a bit spicy for those who are sensitive.

Best authentic Mexican food! Everything that I have tried here is delicious and fresh. I’ve been coming here for years and I’m never disappointed. The inside decor is beautiful, and the restaurant is always clean. The waitresses are always friendly and polite.
The chips and salsa are so good and I always order seconds. I love the carne asada torta and the shrimp cocktail too.
