I reiterate what everyone else says about the vibe, cleanliness, and freindliness of this place. A++ on all that.
Got the asada burrito.
Anticipation Phase:
It was big. It was heavy. It came directly from the grill to my table. It was hot. Served with red and green sauce squeeze bottles. I was hungry. Smelled great.
The First bite – Nothing But Burrito:
Solid flavor in the beef. Beef was average on tenderness, maybe leaned a little on the tough side but only a bit and less so than most restaurants of a similar nature. Steak tasted fantastic but not overly spicy or falovorful in and of itslef. Good strong beef flavor. The rice, beans, and other flavors mixed perfectly and I had a pretty darn good impression.
Second Bite – Green Sauce:
Here we go, were we go now! Tasted fantastic. Very flavorful and a slightly different tang than I’ve had at other authentic Mexican places. Very good.
Third Bite: Red Sauce, Oops:
It’s hot for average caucasion. Dang. But shoot it was good. Very good. Had an x large QT coke in preparation for that very thing. You know how when something’s a little too hot but you want to do it again? That was it.
Third Bite – Green Sauce with a Speck of Red:
Oh yeah! That tangy flavor with the heat coming in a second or two later. And the beans hit me on this bite. They are not refried. They’re whole. Very hardy and tasted great – adding their milder feel and taste during and after the shift to hot. Made me wish I had gotten extra beans. They are very good especially for beans. I don’t normally appreciate them like I did today.
Fourth Bite – Lime Only:
Surprisingly tasty. Obviously got that down home solid first bite flavor but mixed with the suddeness and stoutness of the lime juice. This was one of my favorite bites.
My tastebuds and me mixed it up the rest of the meal. I left fatter and happier.
The Ugly Truth – Not Too Much:
I am a Mexican Food Hole in the Wall conisuer. I’m hard to please. Most of these restaurants have steak that isn’t tender and has excess gristle. I had only a few (maybe 4 or 5) in this burrito but it’s worth mentioning as the only critique. I found this to not be a big deal, especially considering the price. Had I paid more I would have been more critical if this, but for $7 this thing was great.
I will definitely be back.
The sauces were fantastic and really elevated the entire meal. So much flavor in every bite.
The portions are generous and the prices are more than fair for the quality you receive. My husband started with four tacos and immediately went back for more because they were just that good.
The restaurant was spotless, including the bathrooms, and they proudly have a public health rating of 100. That always gives extra peace of mind. They also have a bar and free refills on their agua fresca, which was such a nice bonus.
I honestly cannot say enough good things. The food was so good. Easily a 100 out of 10. We will absolutely be back!
The space is wide open and very clean. Service is always very friendly. I’ll continue to frequent this spot and highly recommend.
Very cutesy inside and large
Staff were very friendly and eager to serve.
Currently they are running a limited menu; quesadillas, burritos and tacos. Tacos are $2
Quesadillas & burritos are $7
Food came out very fast.
I ordered 4 steak tacos
And a chorizo quesadilla.
Both items were a little bland but not the worst.
The quesadilla was a little skimp inside.
Once I got home I jazzed them up a bit.
I’ll be back when they’re fully operational to give it another shot.
