Went to grab lunch here, food was okay. It’s a bit pricey given the quality/quantity. Quantity because my fajita came in a sizzling plate, but was loaded with veggies; had I been vegetarian then I would’ve been in heaven. Meat pieces in the Fajita were very few. Taco birria was good. Oh, their chips were so salty. I wish they’ll read this review, which by no means to attack or demean, rather to check on quality. ✌

We were looking forward to trying this place but unfortunately were disappointed. Here are the details.
As we walked in the place is quite spacious and clean. The salsa bar had a great variety of delicious dips and pickled items. We placed our order at the front and within 10 minutes. The food was delivered. The service was fast and nice. The Horchata had a strange smell/aftertaste to it so I did not continue drinking it. Out of the three dishes that we ordered only one was quite tasty – quesabirria tacos. we rate those 8/10. The other two dishes that we got – mixed fajitas and spicy shrimp were very bland. The portions were generous, but the taste did not make it to the plate. I’ve never had more tasteless fajitas ever before. We read the fajitas 3/10. My husband wanted to get something very spicy so he ordered the Diablo shrimp, but the sauce had a sweetness to it and it felt like it was made with sweet tomato paste. If someone likes sweet and spicy, maybe this dish is for you but for him, it was not what he was expecting 4/10.

The restaurant is clean and bright. The staff is very nice and responsive. The salsa bar was in good shape and the pico de gallo was very fresh. The Jamaica drink was flavorful and not watered down like some other places. My spouse ordered chorizo and eggs which was serve in 7 mins. She said it was good but the refried beans was a bit watery. I ordered 7 mares but hold the mussels. That took longer before it came out. I think I waited a good 25 mins. I supposed this soup takes time to make it good. It was very good overall but i thought the soup broth looked a little bit oily and thick. It did have a good flavor and wasn’t too spicy. There were 3 different kinds of shrimp. It was interesting but I prefer the shrimp to all be shelled and tail less. The octopus was thick and chewy but I don’t know if its possible to to make it tender without making the customer wait even longer. A better alternative is squid. Their body and tentacles are skinny and gets tender quicker. What would make this soup even better is having Dungeness rather than the small crab with skinny legs that made me work too hard for it. 7 mares costed $19. I enjoyed it overall but probably wouldn’t order it again unless they make changes I suggested. However, I will return to this restaurant to try their menudo and other dishes.

Growing up on Mexican food, I’m very picky, because I know what’s good. This place is consistently fabulous. Its one of my favorite spots for Mexican food. The chile rellanos are fabulous, the enchiladas are full of cheese and SO good. Honestly, you can’t go wrong here, the food is so good. Give it a try!

Edit: I took off a star because the super burrito was missing ingredients (sour cream and guacamole). I came back a second time and the same thing happened again.
Original review: My favorite Mexican restaurant in California. I knew it even before I got my food – which was excellent without being expensive (my friend and I got the super burrito and chimichanga). They have a self-serve chips bar with jalapeño sour cream and various homemade salsas and relishes which is included with each order. The fountain drinks are refillable and orders are delivered to the table by number. The food came out pretty fast. Parking was no problem and there were plenty of tables available for lunch. The whole place looks clean, new, and inviting – with no coded locks on the bathrooms. They speak English and Spanish, and the staff were friendly and polite. The menu is full of options. They even have menudo and quesabirria. I’ll definitely come back again and again.

Food was just okay. Pricing felt a bit high for fajitas ($20.99) and a cheese enchilada ($16.99). Salsa was salty and there wasn’t much flavor. I’ve been to other authentic Mexican places around the Rocklin area and have found them to be better priced and better tasting.

Very dissatisfied with our to go lunch because of the stingy small portions. Spent $35 on two burritos that were as big as a $7 Taco Bell burrito. Will not be returning to this place.

I’m just going to say it……best Mexican food in Roseville/Rocklin/Lincoln area for sure, maybe greater Sacramento area. Always super clean and the best customer service. Carnitas are mouth watering and not salty like other places. Wet burrito is to die for and their chicken tamales are amazing. We stopped going anywhere else and eat here at least once a week. Thanks Taqueria Roberto!
