The food here was great. So good that me and my friends ate there every day for 3 days straight. We were visiting from out of town

I was at king of budz and this restaurants food truck was in the parking lot. Me and my dude seen the birria tacos on the truck and decided they looked good and we wanted to try. We got 2 birria tacos but only 1 of the birria dipping sauces which through me off alittle because who said i wanted to share a dipping sauce. Anyways i bite into it and i spit it out. my dude took one bite and said exactly what i was thinking… “it taste like nothing” i bring it back to the lady and she caught a attitude telling me “everyone else said it taste like something” im not sure if this was a bad batch but even the sauce taste like nothing at all. i only tasted corn tortilla and a crap ton of oil. no salt, not even the cheese meat or cilantro. I never in my life had a taco this bad… how can a BIRRIA TACO be FLAVORLESS. i’m hungry and upset about it actually we should’ve just went to the restaurant and tried that for the first time instead. experience ruined.

Tiny little shop I never heard of off North Telegraph in Monroe, MI. They make amazing, fresh Mexican Cuisine here that’s authentic and absolutely AMAZING! I’m at glad my best friend recommended this place to me when I was in a rush, starving, and 5 minutes late to my doctor’s appointment which was literally right across the street 300 yards away. Anyways I told the nice Lady that I was absolutely starving, and that I was in a rush and she still was very kind and got me my three soft Taco burrias, and got it too me fast. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s worth it. I would highly recommend if you’re in the neighborhood, hungry, and enjoy authentic Mexican Cuisine!

Just stopped at the taco truck for a quick bite to eat and the tacos were amazing, exactly how they are made in Mexico. I hope Nenas truck will be here next time I am in town because it was seriously some of the best street food I’ve had in a long time. Tacos served hot with cucumber slices, fresh cilantro, a lime wedge, and small side of spicy salsa. FANTASTIC prices.

I can’t bring myself to leave lower than a 4 star review because this is obviously a family owned business with kind and polite workers. BUT my birria tacos are soaking in grease to the point I can’t taste anything except tortilla and grease. I wish I could compliment the food but it was honestly bland.

Go here. The Mexican Flavors are extremely memorable at Taqueria Nena’s.
Monroe’s a fun day trip from Toledo with so much historical architecture. This restaurant makes the trip complete.

I paid $7 for a bag of chips. I thought they must be the greatest homemade tortilla chips I’d ever have but it was 1/4 of a paper bag full of chips clearly bought from the store. No flavor, hard, cold. So the chips definitely need some work or a huge price cut. Nothing was really that good, but it wasn’t the worst either. Not worth the $40 I paid for 2 people. I’d probably eat there again if they lower the prices!

Please know that this restaurant is opens seasonally. During summer days they cater, winter time is when they are open. If you live in Monroe Mi and think you have tried authentic food in this small town, please reconsider and stop by Nena’s. I am 2 days from leaving Monroe and I couldn’t be more happy to have found the most authentic mexican restaurant in town. Chicken enchiladas and chicken tamales are delicious, served with authentic homemade beans and rice. The kitchen aroma in the small bodega gets you ready to eat! Must try!
