A true family tradition manifesting its’ roots from Jesus Maria, Jalisco, Mexico, Taqueria Mexico, Inc. defines the word authenticity like no other. First starting off as a considerably much smaller location, in 1995, the restaurant strongly impacted the South Side of San Antonio, when opening its’ doors near the intersection of Somerset & S.W. Military Drive, with very delicious authentic Mexican food & Tex-Mex restaurant. Just right over 6 years later, having been very successful with many customers even travel-ling throughout the city to this what some would say small restaurant , the restaurant moved from 7135 Somerset Road to 7167 Somerset, where they sit now, for 25 years.

This place always has great food and great service. True authentic mexican food. Great vibe. If you’re lucky, on the weekends you can catch some mariachi. Full bar available. Family friendly. Great for large parties! They will also do separate tickets! Service is pretty quick as well. Lots of parking, including handicap parking. They also have a drive thru.

Great food and quick service. Bathrooms were clean and accessible friendly at least for the women’s( no changing table in mens) wide space great beer and spirits menu. Variety of food and ample amount . Added gratuity for parties of eight or more which is standard in Texas I believe. Would eat there again! Thanks for a great experience!

My new favorite! Food is consistently delicious. Restaurant has plenty of different items to offer. So far I have tried huevos rancheros, menudo, enchiladas, and my new favorite, chicken breast covered with cilantro sauce served with a skewer of delicious grilled shrimp rice and beans. The ranchero beans are very tasty. All of the staff are polite, attentive and eager to serve. There is always a manager in view of patrons making sure everyone is happy with their visit. A special thank you to Adela, one of the best waitresses we have ever had the privilege of dining with. She is so friendly and makes your dining experience extra special. Gives 5 star service every time. Highly recommend.

Went on a dinner date with my mother after she got off of work, Waited quite a while before a server tended to us, She ordered the mini tacos as she was craving but before biting she found a rubber band in her taco, they gave us an extra taco and she declined getting a new plate but she had already started eating, but when it came time to pay they didn’t even include a discount just because she chose to keep the plate. No manager came or apologized. Made it seem like it was our fault for keeping the plate.
