Great spot for authentic Mexican street food! I came here on a recommendation and it did not disappoint! The street tacos were delicious with generous portions of meat! The barbacoa and shrimp tacos were my favorites I also tried the special chicken tamales that were stufffed with tender shredded meat. I started with a habenero margarita that was very tasty with just enough heat The menu is simple, delicious and affordablly priced. Go early and bring your appetite.

A big thank you to other Local Guides for the reviews that led us here. We were a group of 6, and the combination of ordering at the counter and being assigned a table for immediate seating worked out perfectly. The taco options were delightful – any time I see Yucca Fries or Cochinita Pibil on the menu, I know I’m in the presence of a wonderful kitchen. My only quibble is that, on the night of our visit, they were sold out of horchata. Based on the other aguas frescas (particularly the mint, lime, and cucumber) that were ordered at our table, I have high hopes for their horchata the next time I visit.

New place for me…looking for great Pozole! Did a google search, and this looked promising. Who would have thought adding a tamale in Pozole would taste so good! Broth was spot on, hot sauce 100%! The soup was filling and delicious! Only issue was they need to serve the bowl with a plate under it…other than that…spot on!

I love this spot! There are no misses. I came for brunch and had the chilaquiles. The presentation was amazing! They open up the take out box as you watch it all drop. Lots of sauce and crispy chips. The food was good but the service was even better. This is a safe space for everyone.

The food was awesome. They had a few special sauces they delivered that I had never had before, plus classic delicious green salsa. The atmosphere was really cool and interesting and the service was all smiles and good vibes. Plus their mint slushy was to die for!!!

Some of the best tacos I’ve had so far. They have 20 different types of tacos that are about 5 bucks each. I had Barbacoa Jalisco style, Buche and Adabado tacos. Chips & salsa ($5) and a Mango Agua Fresca drink ($5). The tacos are each fantastic with has it’s own distinct flavor. I really enjoyed the texture of the Jalisco style but the Adabado was my favorite. The mango drink was a perfect pairing. I like the chips but the salsa was just ok. I like their hot sauces better. But at $5 I will just have another taco instead. I should mention that they play EDM and it’s loud enough you have to speak up a bit to be heard. But I was able to resist the urge to jump up and salsa dance. Taquería Los Puñales is my new high watermark for tacos. Check out my profile for more great eateries and craft cocktail bars. ✌

100/10 WOULD RECOMMEND!!! They make homemade tortillas which are so yummy! I had the barbacoa taco & frijoles con queso taco, both which were delicious! The vibes are immaculate with the queer art and the music you can’t help but dance to while eating They give you a red sauce when you get your food that they don’t have at the self serve station, it’s the perfect spice/tang that kinda creeps up The atmosphere is so welcoming, somewhere I’d feel comfortable practicing my Spanish!

We don’t spend too much time in SE but heard about this place and had to check it out! Glad we did.

Delicious tacos with a large variety to choose from. Homemade tortillas make a big difference! That said, they aren’t necessarily cheap as a result (4.50-5.50 per taco, which is unfortunately standard for nicer tacos these days). Quality costs, though.
The mango margarita that we got was also quite good – not too sweet, which I appreciated.

Will likely come back to try more of the tacos on the menu!

Side note: seating was interesting as they’re super strict about sitting at specific tables if your party isn’t big enough. You need to order before you sit anyway, so the person helping with your order will likely guide you to your table either way

Jalisco birria taco shell was very chewy, had to purchase a couple fresh tortillas. The flavor of the meat was good though. Fast service- food runners were really friendly!
