This place is pretty much what you would expect from a traditional Mexican restaurant in Northern Michigan. The food was good, but plain. You’re not getting any intense flavors here. It’s reminiscent of the old Agave restaurant, for you long time TC residents. I got chicken enchiladas which came with a side of lettuce, guac and sour cream. I needed a little salt to elevate the flavor and also put some on my tortilla chips which were devoid of salt. The portion size was perfect. I got a side of habanero salsa, but wasn’t a fan as it tasted mostly of sesame oil. Not something I expect as a Mexican flavor. My wife got regular salsa and that was better. They were spicy but not too much. She got a steak and pepper dish that was also relatively good. The service was good and the food came out quickly. The employees were nice. The place itself has little ambiance, it’s just a place to sit and eat. Overall it’s pretty much what I expected.

This restaurant serves, hands down, the best wet burritos I’ve had since we moved to TC from Texas six years ago. The green sauce is fresh and flavorful. The guacamole is excellent. My husband also loves the fajita plate. So glad they are now on Door Dash!

Our families first time trying this place. Was really hoping for the best. Unfortunately within the first few bites my daughter felt something hard. Examining it closely it turned out to be a rock! Almost looked like a piece of granite countertop or a pebble from the ground outside because of the sparkles. Spent $70 on our dinner that we didn’t have the stomach to eat after finding that. Never going back.
I went in the next day and was told they appreciated being told. I was reimbursed 15.00 for the wet burrito.

We stopped in while visiting Traverse City from Grand Rapids, and my friend’s family restaurant did not disappoint! The food was absolutely delicious, the service was warm and welcoming, and you can really taste the love in every dish. A must-try if you’re in the area!

Best quesadillas I’ve ever had, flat top fried to a crisp. Tried 6 other dishes that were delicious and made their way not cookie cutter. Quick service style order at counter and go sit down. Can’t wait for them to upgrade to a larger space with a finer dining experience and cocktails. Best Mexican food in TC would be nice to have wait staff and pair with a margarita!

The tacos at Taqueria Las Lagunas were excellent. I had a pair of ground beef and a pair of barbacoa, and you can’t go wrong with either. My wife had a couple of tostadas and she thought they were excellent as well. It was a 15-minute wait around dinnertime, so not bad at all. Staff were friendly.
