If you’re in the mood for authentic Mexican cuisine, Taqueria La Vane in Holt AL should be your next stop. It is definitely a dive restaurant, but the food is full of flavor and served in generous portions. The menu is in Spanish and the staff speak some English so that could be a barrier but breakout Google translation and come in with an open mind and enjoy the food.

This is definalely NOT Taco Casa or Taco Bell ! I stopped in spur of the moment for a quick lunch. Very nice young men working the register, taking orders and cooking.Authentic Mexican flavor ! I had two really good street steak tacos…fresh ingredients, well seasoned and served with a couple of spicy sauces on the side…the green one reinded me of the Donya sauce at Taco Deli in Austin. I will definately be back.
