10/10 AUTHENTIC! Randomly pulled up to Taqueria La Prima at 12am after a night out and it was perfect! As someone who lived in California and was missing that authentic taste, this is my new taco spot!

Portions were big. Prices were fair. Flavors were exceptional.
Atmosphere was low key. No sign, no indoor seating, just a friendly nonchalant dude behind the counter, another manning the meats, and another cleaning the floor. The vibe made me feel like we were all in on a tasty secret and we dare not acknowledge it other than with a head nod.
Service was quick. 15min from order to yum.
We went for lunch on Saturday and brunch on Sunday. The service, atmosphere and flavor were consistent.

Fantastic tacos! Very flavorful and big portions. Will definitely come back for more. The neighborhood made me feel a bit uneasy, should’ve gone during the day.

Huge portions, great meal. You know it’s good when they have double corn tortillas. Green and red salsas are both great and pack a slow heat. We liked the pastor and carne asada the most. Only downside is the order took a while – they told us 20 mins (it might have been a bit faster).
Deep fried pork was yummy, not super memorable, and the lengua was delicious and super tender.
Horchata was also solid, $6 for a giant takeout soup container worth lol

We went to this restaurant around 130am on Saturday we ordered tacos and a quesadilla. Staff was nice and didn’t take long for them to make our food fresh. There was seating next door but we opted to eat in our car. It was cash only and less than $40 for the 3 meals.

You NEED these tacos in your life, I’m extremely happy I came across this taqueria, it’s no frills, just a counter that you place/pickup your order and some of the best damn tacos I’ve had in the city. And I have eaten at more taco places than you could ever imagine. They do not skimp on the portions (there is a little too much fat in the carnitas sometimes but I’m just very sensitive to the mouthfeel however out of 5 friends that have all had them only one other said she noticed it but it didn’t bother her) the taste and quality of them put them right up in my top 5 tacos in phila. The carnitas are perfectly crispy on the outside and tender and flavorful inside. They even include a grilled jalapeño and spring onion and limes of course! Even their sauces are fresh and delicious. Oh and did I mention they are open late?! Place your order in advance as they get busy. You will not be disappointed. Btw save yourself a $1 and bring your own bag, which I think is funny that they sell a plastic bag to you while we have a plastic bag ban in effect

Super delicious tacos! The ratio between the protein and tortilla is perfect. Good value!!
Their al-pastor tacos are pretty good. They put some pineapple chucks to add some sweetness to their taco.
The barbacoa tacos are flavorful and good balanced of meat and fats. And it is super juicy!!
Highly recommended!! The best part.. they open late!

Amazing Tacos!
Bring cash. Call ahead to place order. At least 30 minutes earlier. Best 45 to an hour. They are very busy even late nights. Food quality the same even later in the night so you good for when the cravings hit.

I didn’t eat here. I planned to get takeout. But when I got there the prices were about 40% higher, at least, as the prices on this Google maps menu. It also specified cash only. I was excited about late night affordable Mexican cuisine. I can’t speak to the quality of their food, as I decided to go elsewhere.
