I picked up a to-go order for my family and checked the order before I left because we had been shorted items on past pickup orders. We had ordered a side cheese dip that was described as 4oz because we didn’t need the chips. The cheese dip in the bag was tiny, as shown in the pictures, and costs $4.99. I showed the staff up front and asked if it was correct, and I was told it was. I didn’t feel like disputing it at the moment, but I was thinking it couldn’t be right. We measured the cheese dip in the cup at home with a food scale, and it was 1.7oz. For some reason, our to-go orders frequently have problems.

Quick, delicious and friendly. We had a great dinner while in town. Chips and salsa came quickly. The chips were crispy and light. The salsa was fresh and full of flavor. I had a chicken soft taco, ground beef hard shell taco and a cheese enchilada….perfect comfort food!! Everything came to the table quick. Was hot and delicious. Friendly service that was well timed..

We have ordered takeout here a handful of times. We’ve been shorted something from our order about 50% of those times. This most recent experience, though, is so egregious that we won’t go back.

Let me start with recognizing they were slammed. I get it. It’s why we typically order takeout and don’t try to eat there. We’ve given up on ordering taco plates or premade tacos because by the time you get them home the shells are soggy and gross on account of the way they package them. (Just a thought: maybe wrap individual hard shelled in foil rather than put them in a container that traps moisture and heat….) Anyway, we now order the tacos with each element packaged separately – all the meat in a container, all the cheese in a container, etc. etc.. Everything else, soft shelled included, we order as is. Maybe it’s a pain for them? Maybe doing it this way makes them mad? I don’t know. Regardless, we ordered 14 a la cart hard shelled and two soft, four plain chicken and cheese quesadillas. See picture of what they gave us for the 16 tacos, each one priced out at $4. There’s plenty of shredded iceberg lettuce…..but this is not meat for 14 tacos. In addition to that, they shorted us the two soft steak tacos and one quesadilla. Our tab for TAKEOUT BEFORE ANY KIND OF TIP was $102. That is shameful to begin with, but when coupled with them shorting us $16 worth of food and literally pushing us out the door (yes, physically pushing) because of how busy they were, it’s absolutely enraging.

If they are too busy to double check to go orders and/or too busy to allow paying takeout customers to check their own orders, they need to have more staff on duty. Why isn’t someone checking orders to ensure accuracy?!! We live 15 minutes from there. Going back wasn’t an option. Calling wasn’t an option because they were slammed.

My husband is the kind of guy who almost never gets upset, particularly in situations like this. You have to really do something bad to get him to blow up. Success, La Parrilla Taqueria!!! You have achieved that honor. He will never spend another dime at your establishment. From now on we’ll just have to go down the street to your competitor and have their always-perfect empanadas, fantastic service, and reasonable prices. Ciao!

Found this restaurant by accident it’s a little of the main highway, but the food was amazing. Staff was fast and adequate great suggestions. Found our new favorite Mexican spot.

Restaurant was fairly busy (and noisy) for a Tuesday evening, but the staff was up to the challenge. Good, moderately attentive service; good, standard Mexican fare served quickly. All in all a very satisfactory experience.

My experience is based on South western US Mexican restaurants. My first experience at this restaurant. I have visited a lot of restaurants in the greater Athens area. We visited for a late lunch. We ordered the combo plates. Excellent food, delivered fresh and hot to our table. Chips were great, not too thin, not too thick; salsa was ok, spicy, but plain. Enchilada was great and taco-ok. Chile relleno was excellent, large and filled with cheese. Definitely plan to return to try other menu items.

Nice quiet atmosphere but lacking in just about everything else. The location is a little weird but very easy to find. Went with my fiance and went during a non busy time. Very few customers were in the restaurant but it still took almost 10 minutes for the waitress to come to our table after being sat. Chips are great but the salsa is not the best but far from the worst. The food was very subpar. Very bland and salty. Would recommend it if you want Mexican cuisine but don’t have any options. The place is clean and about $10-$15 per person not including drinks.

A very busy place the food tasted pre-cooked. The service was great. They worked really hard here, but I would not recommend the food.

The service was quick (almost too quick, I had to flag other servers down or more salsa and soda), the staff is friendly and the food is good. I recommend that the chip bin be cleaned out regularly. I had some really stale chips in the bottom of my basket.
