Reviews
So disappointing,I really wanted to try this place because of the reviews. Unfortunately it didn’t deliver. I got 3 asada tacos and 1 alpastor. Meat was super dry and no flavor at all, I had to add salt. The alpastor was way too spicy, which was mentioned. But this was a bad spicy, because again no flavor at all. My husband got a wet burrito(asada).also bland and flavorless. We got a shredded chicken taco for our son,he was given a piece of chicken, not shredded. The quantities are good, but the flavor is MISSING!!! Needless to say, we won’t be coming back….muy decepsionada! La carrne estava seca y sin savor. Le tenia que ponerr sal. Mi hijo Chico agarro Pollo desevrado, pero nomas fue un pedaso de pechuga. No volveremos. La cantidad de la comida esta bien, pero la calidad no.
Now, let me preface this by saying that I’m not one to give low ratings easily. I firmly believe that sometimes, things just don’t turn out as expected – hey, “ish happens,” right?
So, here’s the rundown: I ordered the Al pastor nachos loaded with everything and a super taco prepared the same way. My lady went for a Carne asada taco and an enchilada combo with the same specifications. One of my personal rules of thumb when it comes to Mexican cuisine is that if the rice or chips aren’t up to par, chances are the rest of the meal might disappoint, and unfortunately, that turned out to be the case here.
The meal didn’t sit well with any of us, and we found ourselves with upset stomachs for the next two days – definitely not the aftermath we were expecting from a dining experience.
I’m willing to give Taqueria La Mexicana another shot in the future. It’s entirely possible that it was just an off day in the kitchen. But for now, it’s a hard pass from me. I’ll need some time to psych myself up for a return visit to see if they can deliver a more satisfying meal. Until then, I’ll keep my hopes up
The location on Tracy Blvd near Raley’s is okay, these people don’t deserve any business.
See my photos: This is an order of one ceviche– barely anything, old avocado and I can’t see much shrimp (the main component), it’s filled with onions and tomatoes mostly. We had to wait 10 minutes extra for the obese woman to prep this!
The last photo is a “side” of guac. Looks like water and avocado? Gross.
