Have eaten there twice and the food is tasty but unfortunately my wife got food poisoning from their steak tacos. We know that’s what it was because it’s the only thing she’s eaten in the last two days that I haven’t and I’m fine. Sad to have to post a bad review for a place that has otherwise been good but if anyone else who has eaten there recently is feeling sick at least you can be sure what did it.

30$ for a basic dinner & stood for 40 minutes while five other orders were completed before mine was even started not to mention that the orders completed were placed long after mine. I get home with the food, and it’s all smooshed on top of the beans and rice as well.

Rolled into Taquería la Esmeralda for lunch on a Sunday—went with the Burrito La Esmeralda and a side of cheese fries. Burrito had fresh cilantro-onion vibes, fries were fire. Spot’s chill and quick service. Rice was a touch mushy, and meat could use more seasoning. Solid mid‑day feed—gonna swing back and try tacos next time!

I am always on the skeptical side when it comes to Mexican food. And this restaurant is the reason why. I had a tostada dinner. Had steak as my protein. When I tell you the meat was old, it was old. I couldn’t even finish the first tostada, so it’s already a waste of my money. So I have higher hopes for my Gordita which was made with carnitas. That also tasted like the meat was old. And also to mention, it was very oily. Least you guys can do is cook fresh meat. When steak is old and start to go bad or re warmed after getting cold, it ruins the texture and taste. And if I could give no start for the food I would. That’s how nasty it was. Only thing edible was the rice and beans and even that wasn’t even mid level.

If you want cheap tacos, that will do the trick than this is the place. I only get tacos from this place, becuase its hard to mess up tacos. I have tried other things on the menu and it was not so good. I think the fact that they use the same cooked meat that’s been sitting in the pot kind of gross me out, but like I said you get what you paid for. They need to use fresh. Also they should promote themselves more since so many people live around that area. They do need to brighten up the place a little its so dark in there and hot as hell. Yes they need to hire people who know what there doing at the register.
