As a seasoned cajun food connoisseur with too cultured of a palate & high of standards- i am rightfully skeptical of ventures to new restaurants. The lengua taco was genuinely one of the greatest culinary arts that I have ever had the luck, privilege, & the honor to experience. The service was incredible & I have seen very few restaurants (especially in this area) as immaculately clean as this restaurant. I felt as welcome as if I were in my own home & do not know a higher echelon of quality pertaining to Hispanic food. As an avid, honest, & often merciless critic- to say that I recommend this would be an understatement. I have never genuinely wanted to give 6 stars until now. 11/10.

We went here for breakfast.
The breakfast plates were large enough for two people to split. It was $12 for the juevos con jamon or eggs and ham.
The beans had that manteca flavor !! Yum !!
I highly recommend the Chilaquiles, which were $15. Again, it was enough for two people to split. Next time I will get the crèma and the queso fresco on the side. The green or verde sauce which is what I got, and recommend, was excellent. Seen is the chicken add on which I also recommend. Grilled to perfection.
I would like to mention that we got the chips and queso which were normally on the lunch menu. I was so glad we got that. It was excellent. It was more food than we needed, but it was worth getting to try nonetheless. I will definitely come back again for lunch and get it again as well.
Very nice atmosphere and paintings. The server was excellent. Fresh made food! Very authentic from my point of view.

I have been to many taco places over the years in Baton Rouge, and I can say that IN MY PERSONAL OPINION, Taqueria El Catrina is the best street tacos I have ever had! I intend to come here now as my new taco joint when I’m fiending for tacos. I ordered a variety of tacos and all of them were just spot on bomb!! If you want some street tacos and more, Taqueria La Catrina got you!

The tacos are excellent, I had the authentic and delicious lengua, camerrones, asada, and el pastor. Also, the Huaraches are a great addition to the meal. Staff is very friendly and professional.

If you are searching for authentic tacos, this place hits the spot. I did not know this place existed until I wanted to veer from the usual taco spots. The restaurant is very clean which is huge plus!
I order the tripe, camaron and pescado (a la parrilla) and buche tacos. My favorites were tripe and camaron. Jamaica was good however, it was served with tap water which does not agree with me so I substituted for Jarritos pina.
The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is the waitress forgot my side orders.
Overall, I like the place and would highly recommend.

Horrible service!! The girl who took my order barely even greeted me and seemed rude the entire time. Charged $24 for 6 tacos, which should’ve came out to around $20 considering the pricing at $3 each. It seems obvious that they don’t want anyone of a different ethnicity entering their establishment, which is insane because of the neighborhood it’s placed in. Do not recommend supporting this business.
