Only ate there twice. The first time the food was descent, but the tacos and tostadas were not very warm and the taco shells were stale. The second time I ordered just tostadas, again it was slightly cold. But the biggest problem was I got some type of food poisoning, about 1hr after I ate them my stomach was messed up I literally had to vomit every bit off my stomach before I felt a little better. It was an awful experience. STAY AWAY!!

I was able to get 8 tacos for $12, which is definitely on the expensive side for tacos. So, how was Taqueria Hidalgo? First, the red sauce was the best of any taqueria I’ve been to. The tacos were good but a little sparse on the meat and toppings. Good food, but not a good value. This is taco stand splurging. If I was on the north side of Lakeland, I’d consider this place, although El Perico Taqueria (615 W Daughtery Rd) is a better deal. This place has better seating, though, and that red sauce. If you’re willing to drive a little further south, or happen to be further south in Lakeland, there are lots of other options (eg, La Michocana in west Lakeland, Taqueria el Burrito in Combee, Tacos el Torito in east Lakeland).

I got 8 steak tacos for around 16$. Very little meat on them and not enough lime. The tacos were 90% cilantro and onion and the meat that was on them tasted like it was scrapings off a grill. Super hard and burnt little pieces. Overall very disgusting and very disappointed. Took one bite and threw the others in the trash after checking them all. Waste of money.

The tacos were cold and the lady didn’t put much meat or toppings. Not to mention the weird service, I had to call for them to assist me even after I rung the doorbell. $12 for 4 tacos not worth it, I’ve had cheaper tacos that taste better.

Where do I begin? The location geographically was convenient. However there were multiple businesses on site so parking wasn’t the easiest. The service was moderately difficult being that a very small window which served as the place to get your food was the only way to communicate and didn’t leave much room for that. Customers that require visually seeing the area preparing their orders would not be pleased. There were three orders placed at the time I arrived and the times given were not by far accurate given the volume of food that was requested. The quality was not impressive as the age of the ingredients were obvious to the taste and appearance, and the amount given was extremely light. I should not be able to fold a taco like a cigar no matter the time I place the order. I absolutely will not make a lasting claim if this establishment today. However, I will not be in a rush to return.

Through a small window covered with a black bag along with a not friendly person taking the orders wasn’t my best experience!! Tacos was not hot, not even warm!! 4 SMALL tacos for for $8 seemed expensive!! But I will never return here for a craving.. NO WAY!!!

In general the tacos here are consistently good. Yes, they pile on the onions & cilantro. Yes, they are more than the truck on Daugherty. Yes, the meat quality is consistently better than the truck on Daugherty. Both asada, chorizo and al pastor are good. Tamales when they have them are a tad dry. Been wanting to try the enchiladas. The green sauce is heavenly, my fav over the red. Kids love the quesadillas and this is the only place I’ve ever been able to get them to eat non-cheddar cheese quesadillas. Think they are cotija/jack combo. Parking can get rough, especially at lunch time and weekends.
