Came in for lunch with the wife. Keep in mind its a 1 hour time crunch. Parking was easy. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and took a seat. Within 2 minutes a server came by and fot our drinks on the way. For drink we ordered fresh waters a jamaica and horchata. Thats the forst thing i judge right if the bat. The waters were really good , no disappointed there at all.
Took a look at the menu which was full of great selections. From taco , mortar, flats enchiladas and gorditas with some soups.
We ordered 5 tacos , 2 gorditas and a plate of rice and beans with a plain cheese quesadilla.
10 minutes later our food was served. The food looked really good with large portions for the meat on the tacos. Even the gorditas were large to my surprise. The cheese quesadilla was full of melted cheese l.
I hoped the food tasted as good as it looked and it did not disappoint at all. 100% authentic Mexican taste. No texmex here!. This is now my top 2 taco spot in mckinney. There’s alot of competition but this is one of the best!.
Don’t hesitate to stop by and eat here !
My burrito had a nice flavor, stuffed to the brim to where it fell apart. I will say I asked for no tomato but from the photo, there was a big chunk of it inside.
My family enjoyed their chicken tacos and enchiladas. The elote had just a tad too much mayo throughout. The drink selection wasn’t much, I ended up with water.
The Service was nice and friendly. There seems to be only two servers at night, and the rush was a lot. They got everything out one by one, but in a timely manner.
The parking is pretty bad though. We parked across the street at the pawn shop.
Overall it’s a nice sit down place for a quick bite.
The restaurant was spotless , and our waiter was attentive, recommending specials and options—spot on! The food was phenomenal; it felt like grandma’s cooking ❤️.
I’ll definitely be back with my family on the weekend to enjoy authentic handmade Mexican food . Highly recommend!
However, I did notice that the food didn’t seem as fresh as I had hoped, and there was a small issue with my order: I had requested corn tortillas, but I was given flour tortillas instead. I’m not sure if there was a communication issue or if they simply didn’t hear me clearly, but it wasn’t a major problem.
I also ordered an elote to-go, and I have to say it was absolutely delicious — definitely one of the highlights of my order.
Additionally, I found their prices to be very competitive compared to other restaurants in the area, which makes it an even more appealing option.
First we arrived and we’re told to sit wherever. We chose a nice booth. However no one gave us menus. After about 10 minutes we got a menu. Okay.
We order our tacos (pastor, barbacoa, and carnitas). What we received was small skimpy tacos. I literally took one tiny piece of one barbacoa taco and it literally looked like i was about to tortilla. To add salt to the wound, there was little to no cilantro and cebolla on the tacos. We look to give good reviews and can be flexible but if you are going to charge the customer $2 / taco, make it a $2 taco. What we received was a $1 taco with little to no meat, little toppings and a half full stomach. One of us got 4 tacos, the other 3 tacos. both left still hungry and angry that we had to pay for that! Literally felt disrespected being served that food. Do you not think that customers look at the food? When we get experiences like this, it makes us less likely to venture out and try more places. One thing i will give them is the flavor was great! The issue is that the tacos were so skimpy that we weren’t able to enjoy the food.
The reason this is getting a 2 star and not a one is because we can’t give a 0 star and the guy at the counter was cool since we payed cash he gave us a flat 5 back. Respect.
The tacos were very good. Al pastor and barbacoa were my favorites.
