I love Mexican food. Having lived the first 12 years of my life in California I of course have my favorite childhood Mexican place. Recently settling in the Central Coast of California I was expecting better eateries in the area. Let it be known, Good eateries do exist around here. You just have to look for them. Not every restaurant is an absolute banger like most of LA and Northern California.
This place? This place is currently my favorite Mexican food in the area. Of course I haven’t tried every Mexican place in the area but as it stands this place stands above all that I have tried thus far. A great hole in the wall. Holes in the wall are always the best.

Ordered tacos from here. A friend picked up the order. When she arrived with dinner. There was no cilantro or onion for the tacos. You have to package your own toppings, salsa etc. The cabesa was raw and odd looking things mixed in. The lengua was pink and tough. Not tender as it should be. The al pastor tacos were dry. They all tasted bad and made me quesy. Very disappointed.

I ordered a veggie burrito, I asked for fajitas vegetables and no lettuce.
They said sure but it will cost a little more, no problem.
I got home and there wasn’t no fajitas veggies.
They put 3-4 large wedges of uncooked bell pepper no onions and they put lettuce.
The burrito was cold. I was really hungry, that’s the only reason I didn’t drive back there.
No seasoning.

I real enjoyed my carnitas a lengua tacos. The service was great and gotta love that salsa bar. Always a nice spot for a quick bite.

2nd, of all they chips came in a TINY basket partially full with two itty-bitty things of salsa that were only HALF FULL! When we asked for more CHIPS the waitress informed us we’d have to PAY $1.50!!! The only reason we weren’t charged for more chips was because I pointed out we were served only half of a basket in the first place. My daughter’s enchilada had a WEIRD taste and we ended up sending it back along with my carne asada burrito (absolutely no seasoning and hardly ANY meat). Even my nephew’s quesadilla tasted awful!
**I highly recommend La Picosita which is located on Bunny and Broadway right next to Wimpy’s Liquor (they are in the same building!) It is WAY cheaper and the food is AMAZING!

If you own a service dog do not go there unless you want to be mistreated. I have trained my dog to help me with my PTSD, and decided to visit this restaurant. When I walked in, I was immediately confronted by the male cashier ( I don’t want to believe he is the owner) and asked me if my dog was a service dog, I replied yes, and he walked around the counter like a confrontation attitude and asked me for documentation. I explained that there was no such thing, that the state does not required documentation but he had such bad attitude towards me and I simply left. By the way, the restaurant was completely empty, no clients. What a shame!

There was only 4 people there but it took a long time for the food to come out. The Mixed Fajita plate is huge, mostly meat, not really any onions or bell peppers with a small side of rice and beans. For the price you pay, you’re better off going to a restaurant or a taco truck. We paid 10.99+ for a small, skinny, mostly tortilla, kid size carnitas burrito. My husband couldn’t even eat it because it was so dry and the rice wasn’t even cooked all the way. I was hoping for better results from the other reviews I read. We wont be going back.

Got the flautas. More like taquitos. Pretty sure they’re frozen and flash fried, so the chicken was tough and the tortillas were dry. Also the oil needs to be changed. Very bad flavor. The salsas are great! Service was awesome. The person that took our order with the tattoos and short hair was awesome! The air temp was very, very warm. Ventilation is needed for the heat coming out of the kitchen. Or at least prop the door open. Came once before and enjoyed it. This time, not as much. Added note, I like that they have the cebollitas dish. Simple is best.
