We came here to celebrate a birthday, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The servers were energetic and even brought out a dessert with candles, which made the night memorable. The table shared fajitas, quesadillas, and margarita pitchers—everything was delicious. The lively atmosphere and festive music kept the energy high all night.

Definitely one of the better Mexican spots in town. We frequent Guad’s, as they offer generous portions and quality flavor. I appreciate that the nachos are always loaded with toppings (a good amount of guac too!) The staff are always kind and efficient, and there is a nice family atmosphere here. For decades I’ve been going up and down the I-80 corridor between San Francisco and Sacramento and it’s such a worn path for me. And perhaps, it’s this familiarity that I’ve neglected to review this place thinking that I must have already posted one and it’s a surprise to me that I hadn’t.
Well, here it is, an old favorite and as reliable as Old Faithful, an endorsement for an establishment that I’ve patronized for years. I can describe the food as being good and all that, it’s a given.
What makes this place a gem is that it has always served up delicious meals and one of the advantages is that it’s just off the freeway, the Mace exit. If you’re on limited time, getting off and back on the interstate is a breeze, ample parking with gas stations nearby.
If you’re traveling through from a more extended journey, this is a great place to top off your tank and your tummy, stretch your legs and then continue on.

Good tacos at a good price. There’s a slight issue with consistency; sometimes the tacos are fantastic and sometimes just ok. This place gets packed during peak hours so be prepared for that. Not a huge deal, but it’s hard to plan to eat there with so many “to go” orders hogging tables for people that want to dine in. Shame on you all.

Hands down my favorite place to eat Mexican food at Davis. I love the food, environment and staff. Everything is reasonably priced. A big plus is their chips and salsa bar. They have very fast service even when there’s a lot of people. Just looking at the pictures makes my mouth water all over again. I love coming here

I stopped by for a bite and enjoyed some large quesabirrias. I tried one without salsa and it was super crunchy and meaty. I tried a second with green salsa and loved the salsa combo. The third one I tried with salsa and consume, best so far. Then the red salsa, definitely a step up from green and lovin it. The fifth one was the spiciest with the vinegar veggies and a habanero salsa. It was packed so the atmosphere was meh, the service was good though with nice staff.

This was SO good. We got various tacos and carnitas fries and the carnitas were crispy at the edges, just like I like them. It wasn’t super expensive and the portions were a good size.
The agua frescas were delicious as well. Certainly coming back!

I got back in line after ordering the first time. Guads has never let me down. It is one of the best things to happen to Davis. For the price, the portions are insane and it is also absolutely delicious. The meat is tender and flavorful. It tastes just as good as some of the Mission restaurants in SF. The best thing about this place is the unlimited chips and salsa bar that they just keep pumping out. I saw this old man take like 10 containers of salsa himself which I thought was a bit selfish but I also understand. It is just so good.

Good flavors. Poor execution. We ordered a carnitas burrito. I asked for crispy carritas and the person at the register didn’t understand or seemed unwilling to ask. I had to say never mind. We like the carnitas crispy. I’ve been to dozens of Mexican restaurants and its never been a problem or questioned to get it crispy. Your restaurant should be the same way. The customer should get what they like. It literally takes an extra minute or two to crisp. The flavors were good as were the salsas. We did have a couple of suggestions and questions. The burrito had huge chunks of stewed carnitas. Not my favorite. Every bite ended with left over meat. My biggest suprise was this place didn’t know how to properly distribute the ingredients. I can understand if it were Taco Bell. But to have all the sour cream, cheese and guacamole all at one end, while huge chunks of meat sat alone?? No excuses for that. The poor execution took away from good flavors. I suggest better consistency and listening to what the customer asks for.

Very tasty, lots of choices, service is quick. The only place in this shopping center open after 9:00 on a Saturday night. I just had a carnitas taco and an adobada taco for a quick meal. Both were very tasty and well priced, although the carnitas was a bit too wet for my liking. Great restaurant
