Great food. There is no table service. Love the idea that I can get tamales to go and prepare them at home.
Pelican has some town construction going on this summer. You have to take the back road and watch for signs. Businesses are open!

I love the food here. The menu is large with many meats and vegetables. There is plenty of seating, friendly service and ice cream too. The salsa and cilantro and limes are self serve for those dining in the restaurant. There isn’t table service you just order at counter. We ordered a torta and tacos. It’s family and local owned and the recipes seem like home cooking , the tortillas fresh homemade. It’s right off highway on a main street so easy to find lots of parking. This place a definite must stop for me in Pelican Rapids.

We don’t come through Pelican often, but when we do, I make sure we stop here each time! Their huge plates of food are fantastic, and we always have to finish it all off over at their ice cream section, which is also delicious and definitely has variety! I hope they are able to stay in business for many many years, they definitely deserve it!

It is my fun after work dinners many weekends as I enjoy the nice drive to the Pelican, I enjoy picking up the burrito with steak and mixed vegetables and la favorita dish is super filling . I also enjoy the agua Fresca.
No free chips, you pay extra for them unless you buy over near or above I don’t $39.00 worth of food. ( this is an educated close value)

I just finished my 5 tacos, horchata, rice and bean. The host was very helpful. She had a smile on her face the whole time and the customer service was great.

I am from the Twin Cities and I travel a lot so I get to try a lot of food. I was out here for work and wanted to find somewhere to eat. Fast food was not an option so I stopped here on a whim. I did not regret.

That horchata was chefs kiss. Not too sweet. Not too cinnamony. Not too watery. Not too milky. Just right. 10/10

Seasoning was great on all my tacos. Lengua and Tripa tacos were AMAZING. I loved them a lot! Lengua and Tripa were cut up a lot thinner than I am used to. I like lengua cubed and I like tripa still in the tube intestine form. It didn’t take away from the flavor. Both were GREAT. 10/10

Al pastor was seasoned well outside of the sweetness from the pineapple. I still enjoyed it. 7/10

Rice and beans cooked to perfection. Rice was soft and fluffy. I like my pinto more.mashed and not in bean form so it was perfect. Why am I bringing up something so simple? So many restaurants mess up simple things like rice and bean that I dont take it for granted when a restaurant does it well. My favorite rice and beans belong to my hispanic friends grandma. This reminded me of that. Heart warming and homemade.10/10

While working in town, I visited this spot for lunch. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but once you get inside its pretty spacious. The colors and decor gave the venue a very festive vibe which was pretty cool. You will feel like you’re stepping into an actual food spot in mexico. Their menu is very large and you should be prepared to have space in your stomach, because they pack their plates. I had the chicken guarache which was every bit of delicious. The customer service here is really good and i honestly feel like you get your money’s worth when you eat here.

This is the most authentic Mexican food outside of South Minneapolis!! Their mild salsa has a nice kick. Great food, pleasant staff, clean location! Unexpected find on our journey around NW MN!

A great little Mexican eatery. Everything I’ve tried has been tasty. The Pico is sometimes a bit strong with onions, so onion haters may not like it.
The have beer, cocktails, Pepsi products, and other beverages.
For dessert, try one of the exotic ice creams like cucumber.

This location continues to provide fresh tasting and delicious food in a fast food speed. Phone ordering is a breeze for pickup, and the menu is vast. Be sure to try the Al pastor & Mexican chicken tacos, or the green chili chicken enchiladas. Four tacos and some rice is a perfect lunch for two, or one if you skipped breakfast.
